Is their a guide for players to read, that explains formations, slides, etc. I've been told to 'Learn the Game' And was wondering if their are books that can teach you the tricks of the trade and the formations.
BTW, I did search b4 i posted and found nothing to be too substantial

There are a bunch of books out there, none of them seem to be too high quality though.
If you've got some spare cash just give good ole amazon a visit, buy a few n see whats the best.
The best way to learn though is just playing the game as much as you can. Though i understand that playground pickup lax games aren't too common

Lacrosse for Dummies is mainly for box -- don't bother for field.

Reading is great, keep it up, but talk to older players on D or goalies if you're thinking about slides. Think through how you'd beat an offense if they slide adjacent, coma, or from the crease and so on... When I coach and play, I'm looking at the other team's strengths/weaknesses, and playing toward one and away from the other. You should think on the field in a similar way.
