Any suggestings on going into a highly competitive High School program? The school is top 25 every year in the polls. So I kust wanted some input on how to go into tryouts

I would just say relax and go for it... Many kids I graduated had the same problem when we entered as freshmen.. our program was huge at the time.. always in the top 25 in the nation, and we just so happened to be in the top twenty that year.. many kids who were extremely good at lax never even tried out for the team because of the fear of the unknown.. I think that is a horrible waste of talent, and overall life experience.. don't sell yourself short by not trying or being worried, just work your butt off in the preseason, and work even harder in practice.. I'm sure you'll be glad u did...

Just got for it because your nerves now will end up helping you in the end. They will make you more determined and once you get out on the field you will be fine. Keep doing what you're doing and everything will work out for the best.

make sure you husstle, never be the last one into the huddle, dont screw around in practice, and just listen. coaches really notice that. Last year my hockey coach said he reason that i got to start over the other junior goalie as a freshman, was because i didnt screw around and realy showed him that i was better.

In short you won't find out if you don't try. Do you like lacrosse? Do you want to play? Then don't worry what people say, people say alot of things that aren't true. Keep training, work hard, and don't worry. Worrying can be worse than doing badly in some cases.

well...when i started to play, i was this short skinny black kid on a team with huge white kids that knew what they were doing and played very intensely during practice and games. they were very intimidating. what i did was just hung in there. try to match their intensity and show them that u can hang in there.

just remember why u started in the first place...u love the game.

Man you need to try out no matter what. Even if you don't make it as a freshy, you'll know first hand what the try-out is like and be able to get ready for it next year.

i go to a school thats always around hte 100's in polls butt yeah just try hard , dont talk back to the coach, and do whatever he sais no questions asked, sometimes this alone will help you get picked

well you can always prepare, usually they will pick someone with a good offhand. so practice your offhand, and get your basics very good.

Wall ball, mix up hand set up.
and this might sound lame but....dodge some trees, cause more defenders are like tree. really big, but kind of slow.

dude dont be worried about H.S i cant wait for my highschool year. i know my school is not natioanlly ranked like yours is but still that would make me wanna try out even more. dude just go out there and play your best and give it your complete all. if they say u didnt make it for some reason or another ask them what u need to work on to become better. when they tell you walk out with your head held high like a man and work on the things they told you to work on when u left for the whole next year until the next season. thats all u can do man.

yeah dont always listen to other people if they are puitting you down, cuz it all depends on the coach so just try ur best and good luck, ull do great, and the indoor league is a great idea, maybe iu can get your name out there a lil more with the coaches and when it comes to the tryouts ull have more confidence cuz uve been staying on ur game

Try working out to gain confidence, work on the skills you have troubles with to improves, work on your assets to make them even better, and always go 100% in all your drills.

you gotta just know you can do it. if your doubt yourself and think "what if i drop this pass" or "what if i miss this shot" than you will. I've seen so many people with the ability that just lack the confidence, i used to be one of them. play your heart out too, coaches love a player that hustles and gives each play all they got.
