and then went to practice lacrosse by playing wallball... like 3 days ago, now my arms are still sore, is this supposed to happen? This is the 1st time iv lifted in a while and i did try to do alot of reps and such. Im 16 years old, like 5'8, and about 130 lbs. We just had our 1st lax meeting 3 days ago, and i want to start conditioning early. This my 1st season playing. Well anyway, anyone else get this? I want to go lift again, but i waiting for my mucles to stop being sore.

That is totally normal and every gets it. You actually want that pain because you know its working. Right now all your muscle fibers are ripped and repairing itself meaning its adding more muscle. Make sure you eat enough protein so that your lifts aren't for nothing.

It is because you are not used to it, work different muscle groups each day, It is completely normal, As for protein rick foods: Cicken, Tuna, Red meat, Lentils, eggs, the list goes on and on.

hmm well since the question was already answered im just gonna say maybe you should play wallball and then lift that way you can get through your whole stickwork routine which will also work as a warmup so you dont injure yourself lifting

pretty much any meats and fish.....eggs are also great along with beans. in general if you eat decently heathfully, youll be set.

I say it's completely regular if you haven't lifted in a bit.

By the way, never make the title of your thread the beginning of your sentence.

I think I have your problem, when you where palying wallball you used mucles that you have not used in quite a while. This makes them become sore. Give it a few days.

What are you talking about, protein is very necesary in muscle recouperation, what are actual muscles?... protein. A weight lifter should eat 1.5 to 2 grams of protein per pound of body weight as a rule of thub, if you are really into it.

its good that you're getting out to the gym and condition early, so props for that.
don't worry about being sore either. You're a young dude, you'll have a lot of days like that.

One word of caution: don't push yourself too far. While it's true that there's always enough left in the tank to get that last rep or sprint done, don't go loading the bench press up with more than you can handle. It all takes time and discipline.

Good luck

thanks man, i know what you mean too, ill push for one last rep, but i usually stay with the same amount of weight. When i start adding, im not gonna push as hard for a little while, so i can get used to the weight.

the way i look at it is eat alot of high protien foods , even a protien shake or 2 a day will help , as far as lifting my philospohy is EVERYTIME you lift you wanan make it as hard as possiable and always try to bump up wieght whenever you can, but dont work the same muscle id recommend legs one day then arms then rest 1 day and repeat, or differnt groups of muscles everyday
