How many kids do you guys have at your schools and how many kids come out to play lacrosse. How many kids usually are cut from your guys programs?

1000 in my school about, football no one gets cut, basketball, alot of cuts, lacrosse we are a second year team so no cuts, jv, an varsity, about 20 varsity players, and 14 Jv players. Baseball alot of cuts.

there are 3000 kids in my school.. quite a few cuts from the lax team

2500 (roughly) at the HS I work at. We'll have to cut this year (probably), and the girls have had to cut for the last 2 years, because the turn-out is so high.

Behavior, respect, discipline, and grades are an issue with some of the players. I'd rather coach someone who listens, is "coachable," behaves him/herself, and has the right ATTITUDE than someone who does not, regardless of playing ability.

When I move up the coaching ladder, I hope to tighten up the discipline and respect of the players in the program. I'd rather have a CLEAN and PROPER program than one with suspended/academically ineligible kids. But that's just my preference. Skills and fundamentals can be taught. Many bad attitudes are irrevocable (see TO).

800 kids at my school(private) no one gets cut for lax. we only get about 40 people to come out for lax anyways.

we take 6 attack 12 or 15 middies 6 poles and 2 goalies for varsity and the same thing for JV, freshmen doesnt cut

2300 kids at my school, about 25 players come out and nobdy gets cut.

we have 1300 student school, we have no cuts but we might have to or make two jv teams or a freshman team. some places like lake oswego had like 5 middle school "teams" (a,b,c,d,e)

we have 850-900, all guys, about 50 laxers, a varsity and then a jv/freshman. those games r kinda blurred-freshman game is hard cus we had 14 fresh, but 2 of varsity so me and other jv fresh played both. then, first year upperclassmen playedin that (which is fair i'd say cus they rn't better than fresh cus of lack of experience)
no cuts, but i'd say within 5 yeras we will

Great to be a girl laxer in Illinois! :P I wish we had more people try out.. Over the season girls vanish and by the last games we were playing with one or two subs. Definitely not cool.

No cuts this year, developing program. we have a good varsity and decent JV, and now a TON of freshman, including me are coming up. We will problably have a varsity, jv and a freshman(developmental) team, so no cuts I dont think... If we dont add the fresman team, there will be cuts, and lots of them I think, because of the freshman class.

Our school is desperate for a lax team, so we draft anyone who wants to play, which means about 30 people.

we have about 3500 and we didnt even have enough girls to try out to have both a varsity and jv team. We ended up with a 20 girl varsity team that was 80% freshman.

My school is really weird. Its huge, like 3000 people, but we have no cuts for football or lacrosse. There was 100 kids between both the JV and Varsity football teams this year. Usually JV Varsity and Freshman put together we have about 70 kids for lacrosse.

our lacrosse teams are amazing and i dont think there are normally very many cuts but there are a crap load of freshman this year (including me) that wanna play. half our freshman football team plays lacrosse (including me) and most are insanely good (including me) plus a million others. we dont have a freshman lacrosse team though. i think so many people play lacrosse there cause it a school with 3000 people and most are preps (including me) and preps like lacrosse

no cuts for my team-we only had like 30 kids show up and we were recuting ppl from the hallways of my school. it doesnt help my school only has like 1000 kids in it.

i think our school will have about 40 (probably more) kids trying out for the team. the JV and Varcity team together is only 40 slots. last year the school didnt even fill the team. probably 100% of the people goin for the team are freshman of course (like me). some will come from my club team, some will come from a really bad club team started last year, and a lot will come from football. this i hate the most cause some kids may (idk for sure yet) be put on the team just because the head coach knows them from football (he's the football head coach too). that means kids who have never played lacrosse may be replacing the veterans who have at least 4 years now under their belts. oh, and there are no cuts from the team. im pretty sure they just choose the 40 without needing to bring kids on and cut them (im not exactly sure though).

hmm are school has about 1300 about 50-60 come out for lacrosse and we cut it down to like 40ish so we have varsity and jv teams

lol there were only 4 juniors on the team last year(counting me)
so theres only gonna be like 3-5 seniors on the team this year :P thats really not a lot compared to like 13-14 from last year.

My school is about 1600 and we dont make cuts from jv but varsity cut about 4 players last year. But we normally end up both being over .500

cuts: 10ish

We have a pretty big school and a big interest in lacrosse, but its managed well with freshman, jv and varsity teams. For the most part, only the non-dedicated get cut.
