This year there will be 6 state champs in NJ, Group I, II, III, IV, Prep A and B. We won't have a Mountain Lakes vs. Delby championship game.
My predictions:
Group I: Summit
Group II: Delbarton
Group III: Ridgewood
Group IV: Bridgewater-Raritan
Prep A: Lawrenceville
Prep B: Pennington

The thing bout nj lacrosse is that the same teams are good every year, it would be better discussing some of the other teams that are going to be doing well this year that havent in a while, like my skool, saint joes montvale, we're shaping up to be a good team this year, lots of good players and better team chemistry, alot of kids have been playing together for years so hopefully they will step up this year, also clifton has a good squad this year but alot of kids went to private skool

I dont think shawnee will be any better then they were last year. After stilley and burns leave I dont think the team will be any were close to where they were.
This year the only south jersey teams to watch out for is cherokee and eastern. Both teams i think will beat shawnee and will probably go far into the tournament but i dont think theyll beat bridgewater

new egypt will win it all this year...(jk) no, for real, delbarton and mt. lakes are always nasty, but for group 1 watch out for peeps like NE (not kidding), moorestown and i think pennington is overrated. my team sucked a big one last year, but WE, at 4-12 competed with pennington. when a shrimp like i was last year (5'6, 120lbs) starts picking up balls throung double teams you know somehting is wrong your team. i was a little guy but i picked up like 5 balls in cleanup. they are good but they wont win. there are better teams. and lawerenceville got beat by my team (i think) so they dont have a chance unless they play every cupcake team in nj

Aren't they putting all privates in a different "group" than the publics?

I know football is like that, which now u are only allowed to play one private school a season, but i wasn't sure about lax
chops23

Well in football they are only allowed to, after this season, so next season it goes into effect, i would guess that it would be the same for lacrosse, but it should really only affect the good private schools because the smaller ones dont have any competition there, we play alot of public schools and we did terrible, lol.

ok summitt no Delbarton yes Ridgewood maybe and the others ive never heard of
ok so know for the reasoning. Summitt is losing all of their players to Delbarton(my friend goes there). Also our frosh team owned them. Delbarton is always a powerhouse and always will. as for Ridgewood they are a good team but I think that my school Ramapo can give them very good competition(Ramapo). Most of our team was juniors last year and now they are all seniors. Our star player Chris hogan who is a beast at Football and Lacrosse is returning is probably going to be better than ever. We only lost to Ridgewood by one goal last year. funny story the day we played them all our varsity guys wore Beat Wood shirts. anyway I think that we have a really good shot at doing really good this year.

I think Ridgewood has some competition this year, North Brunswick had a higher win pct. and Vernon also has a good team this year, also as always mountain lakes and summit are gonna be going at it.

last year my freshman team played both st. joe's and clifton
we lost (cuz we sucked last year) but neither of those teams were any good either

Prep B. Morristown-Beard. 6 Championships in a row. I do not think Pennington will beat us, highly unlikely.

You have Summit up there over lakes? maybe if summit didn't lose their top 4defenseman and middies, starting goalie and two starters at attack. Bridgewater winning group 4 is a long shot, they had a losing record last year with no wins over a quality team. Seton Hall appears to be the favorite, they will have a very high scoring offense, it comes down to wether or not they can replace OD and their goalie, his name slipped my mind.

ROXBURY GOING STATE!!! hah, not really. I warn you though, two or three seasons we're gonna be on fire, the 8th grade team i help "coach" is sick, they have beaten teams like Lakes and Kennolon. Speaking of Kennolon (correct me on spelling), y does it seem they have good rec teams but nothing in High School?
chops23
01-12-2006, 04:08 PM
Kinnelon loses a lot of their potential highschool players to private schools just like alot of other towns that have good middle school/ rec. programs. Theres just more exposure and its a "better" education, the education part can be argued but ive never heard a college admissions board say that private schools don't get more looks.

Seton Hall will be unbeleivable this year, especially with this addition of Anthony Ruiz. He was the leading goal scorer in the county before Bailey Ellard shut down.

Heard Higgins is turning into an animal on D too! He is a junior captain this year and getting looks from some top schools too! :bye:

bridgewater is a whole different team this year. last year the heart of our varsity roster were all sophmores and their first year on varsity. They've matured as players and are ready to do some damage this year. We also have an amazing attack line, and solid defense. It wont be easy but we can do it.
central has a shot at group 4 as well, cant forget them.

Hopewell valley will be good this year, we weren't to bad last year but we had no consistency, this year will be good thogh our defense is looking real good.

We want to win the states this year, to show Delby who REALLY is #1.
