it might actually help for the ball to hit the ground for bounces

Depends what you wanna practice.
If you wanna practice quick sticks then No.
Get up close to the wall.

quick stick is what u use for a quick shot. basically, u absorb the power of the pass and shoot in one motion. there is no cradle. it looks really good too if u can do it...

so you hit the wall then let it bounce to the floor? kinda like a low shot?
anyways, for catching i get kindof close, but not too close. so the ball doesnt touch the floor at all.

it's like a one-timer if u've ever watched hockey or roller hockey...basically like auslax said, it's one motion

a quick stick is when your standing standing infront of the crease (usually) and your team mate passes you the ball kinda quickly and you catch the ball and shoot it in one motion. its hard to describe. ull learn about it this season if you havent already.

If I were new, I'd work both hands first--cradling, catching, passing, shooting--still and on the run. Then work on quick sticks, fakes, dodges, etc...

hmm just stick to the basics if your just startin out pass and catch 1 motion cradle like once or twice and try not to let it hit the ground after youve mastered that try throwing em at weird angles and etc.

Little tip if u can fill an old shaft with rocks and throw against the wall it really helps build forearm and wrist muscles and promotes natural handling.

well if it hits the ground it could help you on catching bad passes and what not...or if your a goalie.
