This is my first year playing lacrosse. I have spent hours upon hours researching shafts. I dont care how light they are. Anyone that complains that thier shaft is heavy has pussitis. I just want to know which shaft is the strongest shaft. I could care less about weight. I dont want to spend over 120.00.

You're not going to get an extremely strong shaft without paying the price.
But I think an STX Axe longpole is less than $120.

Heres the end all be all, if you simply want the strongest shaft possible, then STX Titanium D Pole is simply the strongest field stick. I dont know about the Warrior Fatboy, since I remember reading it is for box I assume there isn't a D Pole length one. Now the cheapest I have seen STX Titaniyum D poles are $130 I think. I can't remember where I found that but I googled it so you should too. And if all else fails theres Chestnuthillsports.com there prices are dirt cheap and free shipping. Also when I googled it there seems to be three STX Titanium variants, well more like two, the STX Titanium Sharksin which you dont wanna get cuz it shreads your glove's palms, then the STX Titanium in grey and the one in grey with a red fade. Both seem to be the same price, they both should be on chestnuthill's site. If $130ish is too much for you then look for STX Core, F-55/Ignite Optra or Supra, whatever its called, or the Warrior Krypto Pro. All are the company's C-555 variations, or wait for the new shafts from Gait, and STX.

ok if your looking for just brute strength of a d pole then the stx al 6000 i guarantee is the strongest shaft my friend has had one for 4 years not a single dent and it had broken nurmorous titanium and randowm alloy shafts. its not alluminum is strong just that stx made this stick about an inch thick

try a brine f15 extra strength if u can find one

Brine f15....not the ignite. That is one of the best shafts you can buy your first year. Oh and if you look in the right places.....a krypto pro is also great.

a krypto pro will snap extremely easily, i broke my first one, so i sold my second.

I've got an STX Axe(c405, a beast) dpole for sale, its basically brand new, no dents or dings, and it has a warranty, so if you ever manage to break or bend it, sent it to STX and theyll send you a brand new one back for free.

whats your aim? mines dram183

For me STX titanium is bad. My sharkskin fade didn't even make it through a full summer season without getting a big weak point about 3/4 of the way up. It went entirely crooked. I wouldn't exactly reccomend any titanium.
Krypto is the way to go. I had my first krypto for five full seasons before it snapped. It was a little bent, but it way more worth the money that titanium. Not to mention that c405 is lighter too. But there's always an anomaly. Maybe it was just my luck it happens. Just something to consider.

ok easy answer to this one ( and this is y i luv this website ),
CHEAPER = BETTER

i had a titan classic last yr. and it warped like a bannana.
( this ---- is bananas B A N A N A S )

sry bout tht, just sliped outa me, but i had a k-lyte, and it lasted 2+ seasons,
so if u can find a cheap pole ( no matter what metal I.E. ti, mg, c405 ect. ) especially on this website, then go with it.

mohawk defense poles have been out of stock since last spring, though a shamrock r705 zinc is a close second and very affordable. look at battlelax.com

Actually no its exactly $72 shipped, I know cuz I bought one. I dont like the shape it wont fit a Edge, the shaft shape is different from older model ones.

Papoose, look everyone has different opinions and personal experiences with shafts but to put it simply. If you look at big D Pole who dish out alot of pain they will be using STX Titanium shafts. Look at college lax how often do you see any titanium d poles beyond a STX Titanium? Rarely ever. The krypto Pro is second to titaniums in general in terms of strength but technically it is no where near as strong as titanium. From an analytical stand point the C555 alloy was not meant to replace titanium it was meant to be as the lightest weight shaft possible. So thus if you want brute strength above all is, there is no way beyond a shadow of a doubt that anyone in there right mind would want anything but a titanium shaft. And the titanium shaft of choice from John's Hopkins, Maryland and many other d1 teams is an STX Titanium.

what about the db803?

bloodilax977
11-22-2005, 11:39 AM
what about the db803?

db803 is super light, and somewhat strong. But there are a lot stronger.

Go with either the STX TI, or a Mohawk Titanium. Both of them are almost unbreakable.

rebellax10
11-22-2005, 12:35 PM
I broke my 803 in a/m length, for a defense length it looks like it would break super fast. The stx Ti and Mohawk ti are definantly the most unbreakable like bloodilax said. I have both of those shafts in a/m length and the mohawk ti's sidewalls inside are uber thick.

mohawk is a good value.I have a platinum very light and strong somewhat.

Mohawk or STX TI there just proven to be the best and most cost effective either that or a Core Scandium whatever the heck STX calls it nowadays but you'll definitely get your moneys worth i'd say check QClax

can someone tell me where to find a mohawk ti dpole? my friend wants one.

Well, I have conluded that its gonna have to be an stx titanium. However does anyone know of anysite that has an stx titanium d shaft for less that 150.

I say google it, but the cheapest place I can think of is Chestnuthill sports their's is 192.99 buy something thats like $7 totaling $200 and you'll get a $50 discount and shipping over $25 is free. So that totals $150, but I remember when I googled it I found some ghetto sites listing it $130 plus shipping which would come close to $150 afterwards. But I think $150 is worth it, STX Titanium is the premier choice for titanium shaft. Its a good shaft but however it is still not unbreakable, although I have never seen or heard of one breaking, a built freshmen D Pole bent his slightly last year.

Oh Note!! I have mentioned on the forums that theres the STX Titanium fade, well it seems many sites made a mistake the fade titanium isnt a titanium its the STX "TRI-TANIUM". Alot of sites I found while googling posted pictures of the STX "TRI-TANIUM" and called it STX Titanium. So just a heads up.

Please dont bring up old threads. We have a good bit of information here on Wooden lacrosse shafts, just do a search, and i am sure you will find something.

There is even some info in the Equipment Forum FAQ.
