Shoulder pad help

i really need help with shoulder pads. I play defense and i like somewhat light shoulder pads with moderate protection. I need to know whether go get the stx shogun liners or the spartan core liners i can get both of them for the same price. Help please>

I've played 2 seasons with the spartan core as a middie. They have pretty minimal protection. They dont have any protection over the biceps or upper arms/deltoids, and there isnt much at teh collar bone either. But doesnt matter much since u're a d-pole. However they give excellent mobility. I'm small and I dont like any of the bulky shoulder pads so i liked these a lot. Plus the core are really cheap like only 40 or so. Two little things that bother me are, that i have a medium size, but the straps seem too long, so i end up crossing them and securing it on the opposite side. Still works though. the next thing is that the pads end pretty high, they end about 3 inches above the sternum for me. I dont often get hit by a ball in the chest but if i did, that would suck.

Overall, the core are nice. Light, cheap, mobile and minimal protection. These I think have much better shoulder protection. So for that, they are better than just pad liners. The core are pretty much souped up liners anyways- better shoulder protection.

I don't know too much about the shogun, they seem pretty nice, but they are more expensive, for 25 bux more i'd maybe get a rhinoskin.

BTW, how can u get them for the same price? The shogun are almost twice the price of the core.

i use the cores, and i love them, after using the hitmans, which i felt was overkill on padding, it has just the right amount of coverage on the top of the shoulder. they are light and breathable. I recommend them. the new ones have better sternum and collarbone protection too.

I ordered Spartan Cores last night. I also play defence. I had a look at them in the store and they seemed really good.
From what ive heard from other people, they are meant to be very good for Defence.
