With all the Nll expansion going on in my mind there is only a one giant city with high demand for a team. Chicago, lax has been getting huge here. IT has been named an up and coming sport by the IHSA (Illinois high school academics, i thnk it stands for that). There are above 10 new teams this year and the estamations for next year are even higher. Chicag is a huge city and needs a team bad it would be great if we got one. What you think the chances of chicago getting a lacrosse team.

About two years ago they were thinking about getting a team there. It was going to be owned by Oprha and Dr. J (seriously). I would think that it would be a place they would look to to have a new team.

That was nothing more than just that.....a rumor. Never really happened, nor was it a real proposal. Oprah nor Dr. J knows what the NLL really is.

That being said, you guys in Chi-town should make up a petition, or do what you can to attract attention for lacrosse in your area. An investor will only put the money up, if they feel that pro lacrosse would be a worthy investment.

Chicago is definitely on the list of cities hoping for a team in 2005. Sources say that the Chicago Bulls and White Sox are partnering up on an effort to buy an NLL team. The NLL has them on the list with several other cities. My site reporters are working on compiling the information we were dealt, and putting it up. Once we have our "ducks in a row", I'll broadcast the other cities here.

Actually Hooligan the Oprah Julius deal was much more than just a rumor and Jayson Williams was a friend of both stars and bringing Chi Town aboard was way more than just a rumor. Get informed bro before you talk.

Information about expansion is forth coming. I want to make sure its not only correct, but kosher to release, before we say anything official.

I can say that there are about 7 cities interested, and 4 spots for 2005 available.

Hey gearbox, where did I or anyone else say that Oprah or Dr J signed anything????????? Was it being pursued like jmplax31 said? YES it was. I remeber seeing a pic of Dr J in Inside Lacrosse at some sort of lax function Williams was throwing with a small write up about Dr J expressing interest in bringing a team to Chicago. Don't bring up paper work and tea and crumpets to change the subject, with that subject being you have no idea what you're talking about.

I guess each one of these teams you're going to tell everyone about have signed whatever these papers are you speak of. And yes, Jennings has said that both Miami and Atlanta are serious about joining the league, but don't tell Hooligan since I guess the NLL's official paper work crosses his desk. What a tongue lashing Jennings is going to get from Hooligan if Jennings doesn't have the "papers" filled out.

I am re-checking info on expansion. Chicago could happen, the Bulls are interested. Look for some good things next season even if Chicago isn`t on the list.

Miami, or espcially Minnesota will get an NLL team before Chicago, i could even see one in Dallas before Chi-town.

Minnesota is on the very short list. Dallas was "out" last I heard. Miami is ????? STL is popping up again now though.
