Searched, but didn't quite find any real responses to those who have attempted.
Can a Harrow Dshaft be cut in half and used as two attack shafts? would it be weaker at the point of which you cut it?

I don't know about a Harrow...but I did it to my f22 and those shafts are now my starter and back up. It was easy and worked out great. And think about it, the point where you cut it is the end of the new shaft so...it's not like it will break. Use a hacksaw and it's very easy. Good luck.

I remember reading somewhere where they said you shouldn't do that with Harrow shafts... but I could be mistaken.

well i know you can cut a harrow down to a shorter length. I just dont know if you can cut a graphite shaft in half.
anyone else have experiences or heard of anything?

It would parobably be messy on the end judging from a harrow that I snapped. Harrows are made of a bunch of layered composite material, not just straight graphite. If you do it, just know that the end might come out a little bit weird and splintery (if you know what I mean).

cutting it would be a good way to save money.
do that and tell us how it goes.

Just us one of those heavy duty saws that they have home depot. You could ask them to cut it for you. I'm sure they would cut it for you unless it would screw up the saw blade. Otherwise i would go to home depot instead so they can get you a clean accurate cut.

You could probably file some of the sharp fibers down and stick it on the head side, yeah. I'd go for it if I were you, if you find things going bad in the beginning, then just (for the record, I told you not to because it's UNETHICAL, lol) whack it on something and send her in for a new one.

well. looks like im gonna go that route, I prolly wont have it for a while considering I plan on buying one for xmas. So when I get it and cut it i'll let everyone know how it goes and post pics of how it looked after i cut it.
reminder for those of you who have an extreme short term memory:
THIS WONT HAPPEN FOR A WHILE

You can cut it with a regular metal hacksaw. Go to Home Depot and get a blade with at least 24 teeth per inch (TPI). If you want to get an even cleaner cut, you can get a grit edge blade for the hacksaw, like the kind to cut tile with. When you go to cut it, wrap some masking tape around the shaft where you are cutting it. There will be very little if any fraying that way.

That's the way I cut down my son's C1.
Now whether or not you should cut a d pole in half, well that's up to you.
Cheers.

do not cut the shaft with a power saw because it will send a very messy graphite dust all over the place and it is very harmful to inahale that stuff.
