Notes on Federation Rulebook 2006

One needs to look at rules at beginning of the book, p.48-51 for some comments, and the back of the book for the situations.

P. 76 5-4 Sticks. Roll out test/deep pocket test/procedure same as for Ncaa in 2006. Double stops illegal page 62.

Coin Toss/AP determination: same as Ncaa now. 4-1-11

P. 19. Lots of ink about having a scorebook all up to date prior to game. Page 60 notes technical foul for failure to do so.

P.23 Running time differential now 12 goals. Clarifies when pen. time starts.

P. 25 EMO end of period ball in flight now same as NCAA: loose ball

P. 15 Helmets must match in color or colors. Shades of blue=blue=legal. No mention of penalty, though.

P. 25 Does not have new NCAA language about flag down at end of EMO period where flag creates an all-even situation to begin next period.

P. 47 and P. 19 clarifies it’s the HEAD coach who communicates with coaches and who can request and participate in TO for rule discussion.

P. 27. Plunger move now covered.

P. 28 Goal not counted section expanded. Includes shooter’s stick head coming off, etc.

P. 30. 20 seconds to clear midfield as per NCAA. Doesn’t have the NCAA rulebook clarifications on situations that might emerge.

P. 43 Rule 7-2-1-b. I think they need the word “non-releasable” in there toward the end.

P. 61 Rule 5-11-A clarifies game-ending USC very similar to NCAA procedure.

P. 81. 6-5-Q. Clarifies that on a loose-ball violation on a FO…award ball to offended team one step over midfield and not at the spot of infraction. I think in NCAA play we go with re-start at spot with no release, etc.

Page 79-81. Clarifies all sorts of things about equipment breakage, especially goalie stick on cold day with shot, etc.

P. 33 4-29. States we start endline TO’s at the spot….same as NCAA.

P. 82. 6-10-B. First word in the Ruling should be “No”

P. 75 5-4-D. Clarifies that on a stick check if the player adjusts it…could be 2 or 4 min. penalty assessed.

P. 41 6-6-s. should read “over the midline”

P. 90. 7-13-J Clarifies that on a rules discussion TO, if Head coach has no more TO’s and ruling stands…assessed a technical foul

p. 33 4-27-5. Goalie equipment malfunction seems to be same as in ncaa p.52
