now i know lacrosse games are not gonna bring in crowds like football does but, come on...in my school the only people in the stands watching the game are parents of the player and girlfriends ( but they dont watch that much ). how are the crowds at your high schools lax games?

It depends on who we are playing. If we are playing CHS, our rival, then theres going to be probably about 500 people there watching. If we're playing some little nobody school there will be more like 100 people.

its been around for 3 years here. But still lots of people are interested in it because they dont know much about it so they come to all the games.

Our stands are pretty filled most of the time, but that's here on Long Island. Big difference when compared to Georgia.

When we had our Fall Ball game there were more people there than any baseball or soccer game last year.

when i see this, it reminds me of football for us. even when our team is doing awesome, students only wonna go if it's a rival...which means there will be lots of girls there (this also works in non rival games that a lot of ppl r supposed to be going to).
as much as ppl love our football team, most of them wonna be where ppl r. if ppl rn't rumored to be at ur games, ppl won't wonna go. even with a high action sport like football, ppl won't go no matter how good u r.

Yeah where I am in Florida we draw maybe 50-100(maybe) to most games. Only time I've seen bigger was our district championship game against one of our rival schools which drew more people than a lot of football games i have seen.(id guess around 200)

We had the district championship against our rival for football this year. It was 20 degrees and rain/snow/ icing but we still had like 4 thousand people there. It was intense ( and we won, of course :naughty: )

our football team is horrible so we don't hav that problem, but most of the ppl who come, come for big rival games, alot more exciting...but we don't hav a great turnout in general but it's not terrible

No one really goes to our games unless its a nightg game where the dchool makes a big deal about it even tho we have had the sport in our school for more than 40 years.

where i live is lacrosse country, we get a better turnout than the rest of the school's sports (thanks to our football team sucking)...but hockey gets some good turnout too

Idk, maybe this is biased, but I think a pretty decent number of ppl go to the games at my school. A TON of people went once they started winning sectional games, and our fan section was bigger than NT's at state. More people are starting to come now that lacrosse is even bigger.

considering my school doesnt have a team we're not getting to much of a turnout at our games.............wonder why

I'm from florida and we get about eight people per game, and it's my boyfriend and his friends. They only come because our kilts are so short.

The guys teams huge at my school because they're not too bad and play in state championship for the past several years, but the girls turnouts are not as great.

you would think so but in nj (where lax is pretty popular) Georgia is doing better than my school is. we got like 100 people against some of the better nj teams and most of them were parents from the other team.

At my school lacrosse is right behind football in terms of popularity and how many people coem to our games, at a usual night game for us there will probably be a couple hunded people there.

at my school lacrosse isnt the most popular sport, although it is slowly becoming one, when we have home games the crowds can get to be about 100, away games forget about it...

Family and girlfriends mostly (about 50 per game), but we're trying to get more students to come. And for everyone's information, I play in Texas.

Family, girlfriends and friends, some of the girls team. About 150 I guess maybe less. Sometimes we get young'ns that come to watch.

Our football team gets between 300- 2500 people depending on the opponent, we are setting the state record for consecutive state titles, so lacrosse is really over shadowed, maybe 100 ppl at our biggest games including the other teams fans

im gonna say we get a 100 or so usually at home..less on the road...but that doesnt even compare to the ammount that go to football games (at our thanksgiving day game we get 3-4 thousand ppl :P its a big rivalry)

We dont have big crowds in comparision to the football games. This year though all the lax guys went to almost all the football games, since the lax and football players get along we except all the football players to come watch our games. So it looks like we might have a big turn out this year becuase people in my school have heard that lax is a fun sport to watch, who would have thought?

Turn outs last year weren't very good, but hopefully this year we can get more in the stands. Personally, I'm forcing ALL of my friends to attend all the home games, and they get bonus points if they go to away games.
I came up with this idea the other day...
Set goals for yourself to bring people to the games. For your first game, make it your goal to have two people come (parents don't count), for your second game, make the goal three people, for the third, make it four. etc, etc.
The little things like getting a couple extra friends to come out and see what lacrosse is all about are what we need to be doing to keep lacrosse growing.
