Just wondering what all you box players have strung in your head. Be sure to include some pictures

There's one for ya. To get that pocket at the mouth, I just looped about 4 mesh diamonds through one sidewall string loop once at the spot I wanted the pocket.

hey i use a high pocket also, i like them because they are great for fakes and have a quick release. they are also easy to bag to that the pocket is super deep. unlike Hooligan i only strung 2 diamonds of mesh at the top f the head where i wanted the pocket and then i just did one diamond the rest of the way down, here's mine:

Recently took a pic of my sticks in their present condition. The one on the left is the Icon, now with hard mesh, and the one on the right is a Triton, with the pocket that was on the Icon (as pictured above).

hard is hard, soft is soft and catapultion is twice the thick ness of hard mesh and just as if not harder.

Hooligan

Official 2005 NLL Rule book...

Rule 16: Lacrosse Stick Dimensions
paragraph D) The depth of the pocket shall not exceed five inches (5") measured from the outside edge of the head.

4.5 inches at the widest point is the minimum and the ball cannot get caught int eh throat.

i have a question is there a reason you guys that posted use gait heads? is it just because they are studs or is there another reason. also is there a tutorial on how to string gait heads? cuz mine is all wierd and ill have to do it over again.

chslax29
11-29-2005, 09:55 PM
they probally use gait heads because they are thicker/stronger then most heads on the market or so i think.... as far as tutorials i highly doubt there would be a tutorial for a specific brand of heads if your having problems with all the sidewall holes just fiddle around with it try skipping a few... thats the best i can say

Lax4Ever

When you string the sidewalls on a gait stick, just use every second hole and everything else is exactly the same as any other stick. Even if you do use more/less holes then you need too, it's no big deal. The head doesn't have to look perfect, it just has to work for you.
One last thing, when you look at the head strait on, most gait heads have 2 sets of sidewall holes. You should use the ones on the outside. It stretches the mesh more, protects the sidewall and accually give the stick the same effect as if it was pinched that extra bit.

Precisely. Most accurate, strong, and durable heads on the market, and most Gait heads are designed for box use.
