Has anyone tried these? My friend gave me one yesterday and I was just wondering how these were. I'm saving it for the FCA All-nighter but want some info on it. On the back it says,

"The Story- The U.S. military needed an energy bar for the toughest customer in the world, the American soldier. No bar on the market was up to the challenge. So the millitary created the HOOAH! bar. It's mession: deliver Steady Energy and alertness."

It also has the history of the word and nutrition facts etc.

Any info on the Hooah bar would be great.

I read in the Popular Science magazine that it really is the ultimate energy bar, and lives up to all of its claims. Another bar that I heard is good are Tri-o-plex bars.

The percent of vitamins and stuff seems pretty low.

Hm. Being that it is taken out of the context of the rest of the page and page next to it, I can't accurately tell, but it looks more like an advertorial (advertisement + editorial. Some companies will have their own journalists on staff to write positive reviews of their products for magazines) than an actual review.
Especially considering the fact that the reviewer says he tested the bar via climbing a mountain with a pack, etc. That, to me, sounds more like a review found in say.. Shape, or some other fitness magazine, not Popular Science.
But, I'm ignoring the point at hand. Sorry. Journalism major.

As for how it measures up (on paper) to other bars.. I scanned its facts against my favorite brand, Clifbars, and they're pretty well matched.

I think you should try it and tell us. Though I don't think that it'll help you stay awake at an all-nighter, since it's supposed to provide bodily energy, not mental alertness. For that, you should try some caffeine.

7-11, despite being listed as a retailer, does not carry them unfortunately. (At least not the one up the street from me.)

To above: Cliff Bars are awesome, the chocolate chip ones are delicious.

Because they're loaded with fats and sugars, to overwhelm the disgusting taste.

Most energy bars that taste good, are just glorified candy bars.

yeah but i had some low carb powerbar that was really good. might have been a balance bar or something but it is pretty good. the jalbert camps handed out cliff bars and they were pretty good.
o yeah and also sometimes you eat ENERGY bars for ENGERY. who cares if it has fat and sugar becuase that is converted into energy quickly. good choice for energy, not for WEIGHT-LOSS
