Its about time! They were getting nowhere with him! Now they just need to cut Harrington and Garcia and stop using that west coast offense! :dummy:

So what do you guys think about this? Expecally with it being during the season.

There only offensive production is Roy Williams and Damien Woody. Mike Williams and Charles Rogers are great talent but when they stay healthy(Which they never are) they dont't produce enough with Harrington. They need some defensive draft picks(It's enough with this WR talent, Joey Harrington is decent at best, new wideouts aren't going to put more points up on the board), a veteran QB(Something like a Brad Johnson type to get these amazing wideouts the ball where they need it), healthy WR's, and some key offseason signings.

the front office of the lions does need to go. that office is just as bad as the texans coaching staff. maybe the lions can try and talk da coach (ditka) back into coaching them. he can take them to the gloriness he took my lifetime favorite team da bears. the lions just need to get a good qb. last week i saw some promise in that rookie from uconn. he's rough around the edges but nothin a little game experience and more practice with the starters won't fix.

Not Marucci's fault! Lions have a terrible offense....they cant move the ball if their life depended on it, they have good but young wide outs. They need a running game and a decent quaterback so they can actually get the defense to commit on the play actions fakes. Plus Matt Millen is probably the worst GM of alllll time.

Horrible move by the horrible Lions. Millen is the big problem!

good call millen is the problem and so is harrington he had and still has alot of potential but he never followed through on it so i think its time to draft a qb cough omar jacobs cough i personaly think hes a great qb and can help them alot.

Coach isnt the problem. They have two good QB's who have good WR. They have no Oline, and the QB can not get enough time to pass the ball, and to have a successful run game, you NEED an Oline

They need a motovation to get them going. I think it was a good choice, Mariucci seems like he doesn't have an elite presence among his players. Guys like Belicheck and Parcells have that ultimate respect that all players should have. Maybe Mullen will get the Lions back on pace.

firing a coach midseason is a desperate attempt to get a playoff spot, but it rarely happens..

that may be the case... but why would they need another rookie... everyone saw how harrington turned out over the past 3 years.. unless they get one of the top picks somehow and are able to get Leinart or Vince Young, then i wouldnt get a qb.. i would however, trade someone for another qb because harrington isnt getting it done, but garcia hasnt looked that bad.. joey harrington might turn out to be good.. but not on the lions

A playoff spot is a reach...they are hoping for at least a .500 record

What exactly is the point of an nfl megathread? Its not like there is an abundance of posts about the nfl on this forum. If there is just one youd have to check it everyday to see something interesting in it. Whereas if you have seperate threads you cen see what sparks your interest. All Im saying is that the NFL makes things a little more unuser friendly.

Yeah. At the radio station I work at, the joke is that Arizona State will soon be hiring Mariucci. If the Vikings don't take him first.
