I read the Bio and i was wondering what you guys think, do you think he commited suicide or do you think Courtney killed him?
I personally think she killed him because all these doctors said that with the amount of heroin in his blood stream theres no way he could have lifted up the shot gun to do it.

he killed himself, some people (like my brother used to) dont want to admit it, but its true. he had been trying. that overdose in rome a couple weeks earlier when they pronounced him dead was no accident. he was a deeply disturbed person. its sad to see such a waste of potential, but the man is still a god in my book.

I think thats me like in the back of my mind i know he did it but i keep hearing all this stuff about how he couldn't have and i want it to be courtney.. I guess cause his music was turning into exactly the oppesite of he wanted it to be like people wanted to use it in commercials and stuff and he said he'd rather die then sell out so i guess that's what happened but i still don't wanna believe he did it.

I seriously dont know what to think. I heard the thing about too much heroin in his blood to lift the shotgun, and I like to think Courtney Love killed him, but there are way too many arguments for me to comprehend. Still, he was a god among men.

the great composers like beethoven or bach were gods.

Hmm, that's interesting. I don't doubt that he was od at the time, and not able to lift the shotgun. This could be like a murder-mystery episode on tv-
CSI NY- Who Killed Kurt Cobain (2 parter)
No, jk. But in all seriousness, I think Courtney could have killed him. He was depressed and disturbed, so maybe he asked her to do it, and she was so wasted she was like whatever and just did it, maybe unintentionally.

WOOO that is a bit extreme. He was a sub par guitar player who wrote a few catchy songs. God? Only musical god I know of is Hendrix.

I have a resonable explaination for the heroin thing.... courtney helped him. Done. He shoots up, she helps him lift the gun, he pulls the trigger. She obviously can't say she helped him because that would put her in trouble. She has her own problems and probably really did love cobain quite a bit. Is it unreasonable to assume that if you were in love with someone and their greatest desire was to killt themselves that you would under all circumstances refuse to help them out? So, he shoots up enough heroin that any pain is further away than the moon...and click bang. done.

I agree. His music wasn't anything special, but he along with Pearl Jam helped resurrect actual music from the hands of Whtiney Houston, Michael Bolton, and Phil Collins who dominated the Billboard charts in the era.

Imagine having Phil Collins all over your iPod, and not any bands.

That's all he did, help save a dying rock scene.

anyone who could help pull music out of the depression of the 1980s is a god in my book. so eddie vetter it as a god too, but not in the same sense as kurt

Cobain had been talking and writing about killing himself since (at least) 1989. I used to have overwhelming depression, and I know what it's like--when you're negative and hopeless, and all these crazy ideas are running around in your head...Kurt never realized that you ultimately have to sell out--it's a part of life. Growing old, and slowing down is, in itself, a form of selling out. This would not stand in Kurt's world, which is why it is the way it is. Just think--Kurt would be 39, almost 40 right now...

And does anybody remember who the only person was who could take Michael Jackson off the #1 charts in 1991-92? Kurt Cobain.

.....cobain played guitar

Poorly.

He was a decent songwriter, but he really wasn't anything special as a player.

His brand of sloppy, whining, hard rock may have charted better than anyone elses, but so much of the other music going on at that time was far better IMO (Start with Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden).

Anyway, he's gone, and I hear less Nirvana on the radio. Sadly, I hear more of Courtney Love :banghead:

depends on how long the shotgun was....I dont really care. Courtney pulled it, in my mind it still doesnt make it a murder cobain wanted her to. Assisted suicide.

It's dissappointing that he died so young, but he was by no means a god. I'm a better guitarist than Kurt Cobain. He wasn't an amazing artist, he just brought grunge to the mainstream and got worshiped for it.

Its probably for the best that was killed. When a.)he committed suicide or b.) was shot, Nirvana was at the height of their popularity. Soon thereafter, they wouldve started going downhill, then just faded away.
Nirvana > Alice in Chains > Pearl Jam
^ 'Tis preference. Dont get me wrong though, I love all of them. I just like Nirvana more.

Ok kurt Cobain. That guy is... unique. I really like nirvana and so for a school project i did him. I read his biography. As for his death he is said to have first walked into his green house. wrote a note to courtney. Injected himself with twice the heroin needed to kill him. leaned the shotgun against the ground. put the barrell in his mouth and pulled the trigger.

first of all, nirvana did have some good stuff. Cobain however being called a musical god is pretty retarded. he had some good lyrics, but was nothing with the strings. He was terrible, but could sing and make all of us feel his anger, thats why we liked him. just my 2 cents

I don't even think he was a good musician. All of Nirvana's songs were A-B-A-B Format. there werent any jaw dropping solos, amazing lyrics, or and kind of great technique. All of there music is bland.

El Oh El at grunge

How can anyone say Cobain was a god of music? He couldn't play anything melodic, or compose a song with talent, and Hendrix a god of music? Ohh no, ohh hell no.

I've always been a big Nirvana fan. My take on the whole Cournty Love thing was she may have begun to push him closer to his already suicidal tendancies, but didn't pull the trigger. Some you may remember that shortly before his death, Kurt had accidentally dropped his daughter while holding her and Courtney never let him hear the end of it. Furthermore her role in attempting to stop his suicide attempts greatly paled in comparison to that of Krist, who once locked Kurdt in a closet to stop him.

I agree, guitar player, passable, songwriter very very good. My favorite song is I Hate Myself And Want to Die, which was originally planned as the titular song for what became known as In Utero when Geffen wouldn't allow that as the album title or to appear on the album period. Several months later it showed up on Mike Judge's Beavis & Butt-head Experience as the lead-off song. I can also play it on the bass, whee!

As for grunge. I never, ever, ever liked Pearl Jam which I know a lot of you laud. Soundgarden was my first concert, and I really dug Alice In Chains and the Meat Puppets. Other good but lesser known bands of the time/scene are Tad and Eleven.

Am I the only one who heard that the only possible way that he could have killed himself was if he pulled the trigger with his toe?

naw he was kneeling on the ground. put the barrel in his mouth and put the bottom of the gun on the floor and pulled the trigger

That is what's so great about them. They were nothing amazing, weren't the best at anything in specific, yet they were great. I don't care about format, tell me that when listening to "Smells Like Teen Spirit" the format matters at all.

exactly! they were average musicians, but they sounded good. and they were innovative. kurt had an amazing voice that had a way of making his listeners feel his pain. lake of fire unplugged in ny was on the radio today and i really felt how much pain he was in. a song is much more powerful if you feel what the singer is feeling

Kurt Cobain may have been suicidal, but he did not kill himself. Courtney had someone kill him.
All the evidence is here>>>>>http://cobaincase.com/
There just wasn't enough evidence at the time of the case and it does look like a suicide.

I agree with this statement. Now a moral girlfriend wouldve asked him to go to rehab and get his *** together and clean his act up, but she was wasted all the time. If this is the case, it exhibited a true bond of love between them because to assit someone in suicide is man-slaughter degree 2 i think? But she loved him through all the drug use and his depression.

I kind of agree with what Kobain did. Personally, if I were that top in line, music wise, I would rather kill myself then become a sell-out. Sell-outs are hated by die-hard fans and applauded by first-timers with no apperciation of your music.

but he's the lead singer/guitarist of the band Nirvana.
