i was just thinking that it would be a good idea to have a thread to put pryer requests in. so this is it. so if anyone has anything that they would like people to pray about just post it here. if you are not a christian or don't beleive in god please dont take this offensivley.

p.s. please dont make a joke out of this put real requests in

screw whatever these other people say, this is a great idea. this isn't just a prayer thing, this can also open some people eyes to people in need.

i want to pray for a good friend of mine who left for iraq yesterday, and also for all the kids who aren't going to be able to celebrate the holidays this year because they are too poor.

I just wanna ask anyone to pray for people less fortunate than us who can't celebrate Christmas and I'd like to say that attitudes of those willing to help people in need can open their eyes to religion. God calls upon us as his children to help those who are less fortunate and it makes you feel good for doing it, helps them out, and God promises us rewards in heaven for doing such things. This time of year always opens my eyes to another world that people live in where they don't have a nice home or family or presents under the tree. In all seriousness, there are plenty of kids that won't be able to play lacrosse because they can't afford to get any gear or even manage to muster up enough food and water to keep healthy.

This is not a competition, I don't care how it turns out, but it's just not appropriate for TLF. It has already turned into an argument.

comon you already made a comment that could start something bad in this thread i dont think this tread is that appropriate but im not one to judge others and i just want to say one thing that if one of you members dont beleive in what these other members are doing please just let them do what they want its not right to do that if you dont like it just dont say anything even tho i feel differently then the other members i just want everyone to respect everyone else and do not post in this thread if it is an unnessiccary post. please do not comment on my post and if i offened anyone in any way im sorry

ok guys... it's fine... it'll stay... it's the open forum and people can put whatever they want in here as long as it's not degrading, and a simple thread where people put some thoughts for prayer is not degrading. end of discussion. anymore posts on why this shouldnt be here will be deleted.

So. I am becoming a member of my church on Sunday, but I never got baptized. I don't even know if that's a real issue..or if I need to be...or even if I want to be.
So any advice would be helpful..or a prayer just to help me figure all that stuff out.

Pray for Christmas break to come quickly...and go by slowly! :)

My brother had a substance abuse problem for awhile...this is his first Holiday Season with out all that stuff. He could use some prayer to stay strong etc..
5 months clean and sober..

Merry Christmass!
:)

Well, it depends on what church you belong to... i believe (but could very well be wrong) that catholic and episcopalian are the only two churches that require baptism as a prerequisite to being recognized as an official member of the church.

it's always a good idea to be baptised if you haven't yet, as all people are born with original sin.

EaglesLax22
12-07-2005, 02:32 PM
yea i think u shoudl get baptised if u truly beleive in god and have exepted him into ur life but i dotn think u have to to go to heaven but thats my churches opinion urs could be different

Pretty sure that "liberals" don't want our soldiers to get hurt anymore either...

GeorgiaMiddie2

agreed... remember, we're the ones who didn't want the troops over there in the first place...

anyhow, eagles, i dont know what church you belong to, but catholics require it, as it's one of those required sacraments we need to obtain grace.

I'm quite religious myself, I'd like to pray for those suffering from HIV, AIDS, and Other STD's. My friend was just diagnosed with oral herpes and can never kiss another woman ever again, without spreading it.

Here also is a great quote from the movie Kingdom of Heaven. Its ireelevant but;
"God will understand, and if He doesn't, the he is not God, and we need not worry."

If you find a prayer thread unnecessary, then all of the many other threads in the Open Forum are equally unnecessary.

I am very religious. And to those out there who are taking this thread seriously, I would appreciate any thoughts and prayers you could send my way this weekend. I have to coach at a wrestling tournament (forced into it) for 10 hours and then drive home just to meet up with my mentally ill (read: paranoid/bipolar/unmedicated with hormonal imbalances throw in to boot) ex-fiance. She is going to come and collect "her" cat and accuse me of stealing from her or something else equally bizarre. I could use any and all good will you could send my way. D-Day is Saturday. Pray for mojo.

Yeah. I'm pretty sure that no one is going to say that I can't go to Heaven if I'm not baptised. But it's something I think I shuold do eventually, if not this weekend.

formerlaxdemon...man..sorry about the crazy ex... good luck with that. I'll pray for you :)

well Im also pretty religous myself, but i believe in the norse gods along with yahweh or god as you call him. So yea a obvious prayer would be for the troops in iraq.

I am one of those religous people. Pray 5 times daily, read from my holy book, and remember god in most things I do. I just want to make some prayer for all the people suffering in this world and for god to have mercy on everyone. Ameen.
