Hey,

I was just wondering for the QLD peopple out there if there was a chance that u wanted to combine a U/17 team to enter in the nationals for 2006? Would this be a possibility? I heard u had a team last year but i'm not sure. anyway could someone reply and tell me what they think of this?

Cheers, Damo

if ur looking to do this u should talk to phil krause, his number and evereything are on the Australian website, i think, under the state details. I'm pretty sure we'd be able to get a group together.

it would be hard with qld and tasmania being so far apart.

Yeah it would be hard but if it gives some kid's from Tassie and Qld a chance to get exposure to a higher level of lacrosse it will all be worth it.

Yeah, maybe they should train seperately but get the coaches to coach the same things.
That is what the alternates teams have to do.

i was thinkin that if we trained seperately then we could get to the tourny a couple of weeks early and train together...? where is the toruny being held next year?

we've almost got the team ready. QLD have started their training and us in Tassie are getting there. Should be a good time!

Good luck fellas. I will be a great start to getting these 2 states playing at a senior level soon. I know QLD had a game in the last ALL, but it would be good to see them in the full game rotation, rather than just a one off game.

Do you guys in Tassie all play box lacrosse?

From what my dad told me, they play field with no contact.. Mixed with both mens and womens... But I could be wrong. After all, my dad is an idiot when it comes to Lacrosse...

I'll explain the situation of Tassie lax,
Junior boys play some version of mod cross, a little contact, and sort of womens checking rules. Girls play girls. Over 16's play mixed womens game. Theres also box, no women, except once one played.
As for mens field we pretty much train if theres a comp coming up, like pradise we've had a team for the last couple of years or U15 or 17 if we have enough people in that age group, and play the odd game against ourselves. thats about it
