dave joy is pretty funny. In the under 15 final against surrey he was the ref and he just said malvern can go this way and surrey go this way and then the surrey captain goes aren't you supposed to flip the stick and then dave joy started making a big deal out of it going oh you want to flip the stick and stuff then the guy shutup. It was funny ecause he gave us the heaps better end that wasn't soaking wet but he got away with it.

If anyone saw the last quarter of the division 2 final between malvern and surrey dave buzza was mouthing off heaps to the refs stuff like your a scumbag, how do you sleep at night and he was spitting at the refs. That was pretty bad.

I saw that D2 final game also. I guess if I was a malvern player, i'd have been upset too after being flogged by 20 odd goals by Surrey. A far too one-sided game for a GF. I reckon C'Well would have put up a better contest than Malvern. Just too many old hacks.

nah i wasnt upset. Most of the players were happy too be in the grandfinal after beating camberwell the week before but some took it badly.

We played them 3 times and came close twice, We only lost by 1 goal the week gordon purdie played for them, Surrey would have been destroyed in divsion 1.

From what I saw of that game, and when you consider the team they had Cam McLachlan, 3 Whitbourne Bro's, Nic LeGuen to name a few, they should have been playing D1. When you consider that the aforementioned players would make any State League team in teh comp, I reckon they'd have given 'most' D1 teams a lickin.

As for my feelings towards Malvern, I do feel sorry for them. I see them becomming the next Footscray or Altona (relegated). Too bad all those guys around in the glory days aren't around to put back into the club. With th exception of Rod Ansell and Gary Campbell, where is Paul Cook, Glen Meredith, Adrian Skepper, Suthy Theoun, Andrew Cook, Adrian and Sean Slattery. The club will be dead, if these guys and guys like them don't assist.....Shame, Shame, Shame.

Don't agree with you there pal and shows you probably have never played against them. I've competed against most of them for years and they would definately get a game still. Your looking at guys in 20's, except Cam, who have until this year been very good players at S/L level for their clubs, state and country (i think). For their clubs sake, hopefully they will play up next year. The kid Le Guen is I believe the most 'freekishly' talented kid playing in Victoria. Have you ever tried manning up on him one on one. The kid is quick as hell, and has all the moves, he just needs to committ more. When he's on he's the toughest short stick to play against in the comp. He reminds me of a tougher more athletic version of Jim Buchanan, with the split dodge of Peter Inge. Wish he'd come play with us.

All of those guy you named for Mlavern do a ****load aroud the club, they teach you sooo much, if you play with them, and listen to them. I guess you dont really know because you dont play for malvern They do assist the club and the youth get better, so howd u get this information about them not assisting any one?

leguen doesnt have the heart for it....def isnt the toughest player i have played on, prob not even close...Buchanan a couple of year ago was nearly un-playable..Leguen is talented and hopefully he pulls himself back from obscurity...

Adrian slattery coached the under 15s for the first half of the year and played divi 2 but injured his knee or tore some ligament so missed half the year.
Glenn Meredith gave specialist coaching for last years under 15 southern crosse team.
Maybe theres not enough people who do enough i dont know but theres people who do a lot like chris baker, rod ansell, brad skepper etc etc. Maybe if you know so much about malvern you should be down there helping out on saturday mornings cordurouy.

I forgot about DeCarlo. He hasn't been around for a while now. Now you mention him, he was definatley a ****y loud mouth yank, who needed some shutting up. No offence to the yanks, but this bloke was a a-grade wanker. Playing agianst him, you'd just lvoe to stir him up knowing he'd crumble at some point. There's another yank from Surrey - Eric ??, who is lound and emotional from the side line, but he is a genuinely good bloke from what I've seen and with a coupla young boys playing the game also/ He puts in a real effort for his club. Goes to show they're not all the same!

How about the first semi-final against malvern when you guys lost. (like all the other times :agree: ) He was going nuts shouting at both the refs and lots of the guys ive talked to have said hes pretty tought on his teamates. He's not the worst though......

Everybody has the potential to loss it at one time or another, even the calm, even keeled coaches. Depends if you get them out of their comfort zones. 2 years ago, Camberwell's under 13 divi 1 team had their way with everyone during the season. Then comes along a young, but skilled Surrey team(the one that is having their way with everyone now), and they nearly knock Camberwell off in the grandfinal. The interesting thing about that game was the reaction of the Camberwell coach and parents. The looked fit to be tied. That Surrey Yank, Eric, coached them well for that game, and they had them until the last 3 minutes. Its was great to watch.

Other dumby spitters in recent years were the under 15 Caulfield side in 2004....absolutely pathetic.

Which one you talk'n bout endoftheline? Eric the coach or phil skiller? Eric I don't has coached under 15's for years, except for East Side Kings...and I know him to be an exemplary and fair sportsman.

That has got to be the worst game I have ever played in.
There where kids on the sidelines mouthing off the Caulfield kids and it just got to them. Caulfield had about 5 guys on top on J. O'neil at one stage...
