What are some of your guys' general tips when it comes to stringing and maintaing a traditional pocket?

Invest in a pocket screw.

when stringing the crosselace leave a little slack it it so the pocket can form later on. i also have found that you should install the shooting strings before you try to break in the pocket. this seems to stretch the shooters a little the same time you break in the pocket.

^^ very ture, also, make sure the diamonds are equal in size and symetrical. and if you start getting tons of whip, tighten the pocket, a small traditional pocket plays like a huge mesh pocket. and never be afraid to add a few more shooters..... i have used 2 shooters in a stick with trad sometimes, but i have also used 6.

Stretch your leathers a lot.

String shallow and wait for the leathers to stretch to make a pocket. It will come out much better if you don't make any adjustments after its done being stung (besides shooters).

just take you time that a big one never rush sure your excited to do the trad but make it good and extra 30-40 min wont kill you (if it takes you that long maby on the first)
