i just finished dyeing my tempest, and i had this guy string it up with a trakker pro pocket. i have to say, its the best pocket for those debeer sticks with the low sidewall since the channels the ball perfectly down the middle, and for girls sticks, you want the outside leathers to be tight, while the insides are loose. anyone string a trakker pocket? i wanna try doing it this summer. looks easy, but then again... looks are deciving

ive strung a traker pocket which was a easy as pie but a pro is just a lil different... if u can string a trad. pocket u will have no problem with the traker pro

Have you played with a regular Trakker laxbabe? I've found that recently the Trakker pocket I have seems to have lost the grip it has on the ball. I've heard the Pro Trakker has a better grip on ball. What do you think?

yea, my old apex had a regular trakker, and after maybe... a couple of months, the ball kinda spins around in the pocket. like you said. there's no grip anymore. the sythetic leathers are just really smooth now, and the ball moves around, and doesn't seem to stay in the same place.

hmmm... odd... my friend had a traker pocket in his stick for like 2 years until it feel apart and he never had a problem with the grip

its like this. women's sticks need a channel, and we need the ball to stay in that channel, that's kinda like our "grip" it might be different for you guys.

wow, i sounded like a b.itch there. sorry lizlax. what i ment to say is that we need a channel, and the trakker doesn't offer a channel cuz since the pocket's just one piece, we can't really loosen the inside 2 leathers w/out loosening the outside 2 leathers, and with the trakker pro, we're able to move the 2 sythetic leathers on the inside w/out loosening the other 2 outside leathers.

If you like the pro trakker...Brine is coming out with a new stringing that is very similar but in my opinion is even better. I agree with you laxbabe...the pro trakker is sweet. I worked in a lax store for awhile and they are also easy to string. The instructions also come with the stringing kit so it makes it that much easier. Good luck with the new pocket...watch out for the new Brine strining.

I KNOW WHAT IT IS! Its called the Web-X pocket. The only thing is, what is so special about it compared to the Trakker pockets? Do you know anything?

terrierlax17
07-23-2003, 09:24 PM
Honestly I am not quite sure what is special about it...Brine hasn't released too much information about it. The only people who used it were Brine reps and some college girls whos teams were sponsered by Brine. If I hear anything more though I will let you know!

another thing on the trakker pro that alot of girls don't do, but you should pull the 2 outside leathers on the outside really hard, and then loosen the 2 inside ones to create a better channel. a bunch of girls at camp had the pro pocket, but they didn't pull the outside leathers down really tightly enough

the only complaint I've ever heard about them was that a girl on my team said that they were really hard to tighten. is this true?

laxbabe2121

not at all... just pull the leathers down...and tie it off. here's how i do mine, and i haven't adjusted them at all so far. i put at knot at the bottom, braided it, and taped it to my shaft.

My friends says her two middle synthetic leathers on the trakker pro keep slipping their knots and loosening, any help there?

thanks

tape those 2 middle strings down to the shaft, and also check the top string, make sure its really tight when its strung across the head.

WEB-X...dun dun dan! TRAKKER PRO! dun dun dan! TRAKKER! dun dun dan! overrated! dun dun dan!!!
I've used all three and if you're cheap ( like I am) and you weigh the "extra" features of the web-x and pro, it's not much different. As for grip of the pocket, I've only had problems when I abused the pockets and didn't clean them out. I think the pro and web-x as more of a marketing gimmick than anything else. your choice though, and if you choose to blow your money on it, it's not like you aren't making a good investment.

I'm using the trakker pro on my triton for defense, and I think it's the best, definitely better than trakker. Like you said, it creates a nice channel. But, if you have a trakker, maybe cutting the string between the oustide two synthetics and then stringing it like a pro might work? BTW anyone know where u can still find a trakker pro kit?

laxbabe2121

yea for some reason the store close to me stopped selling trakker pro's, they said that warrior wasn't distributing stringing kits to some stores anymore.... hmm interesting.

HAHAHAHA I love that the store said that.

I wonder if they even realize the Trakker Pro is deBeer.

its like this. women's sticks need a channel, and we need the ball to stay in that channel, that's kinda like our "grip" it might be different for you guys.

And that is why the girl string by Us at Stylin' Strings is the best thing on the market for you. Leather and nylon do not loose their grip like a synthetic material will. the trakkers are sewn together, ours are strung, and that string isn't going to wear down at all over the life of the pocket. It may expand and shrink with the rain, but a coiled string is a coiled string is a coiled string. that grip and feel that you get from it is why they are hands down the best thing that you can buy.

yeah ive tried both, will def say that i like the trakker pro better, it plays more like real leathers, but i do have a problem keeping them tight it seems everytime i play i have to tighten them... so pretty soon im gonna go back to good ole leathers

btw laxbabe i absolutely LOVE the pics of mikey powell!!!!!!

try taping the strings down to the shaft, and then cutting off the extras so it doesn't dangle everywhere.

How about having the two synthetics on the outside (cutting up the string in the middle) and having the two leathers in the middle?? A store near me said they did it to a friends stick but I don't know.

Damn D man
07-19-2004, 04:45 PM
That would be more or less your typical trad pocket because the middle two leathers do more work than your outside ones...but hey, it's your call.

I have the Trakker Pro now, expect a review on WELacrosse later this week I hope.

For a preview, I'll say that I dont really feel a difference aside from give and definitley a more natural leather feel.

does anyone have directions for stringing a womens trakker Pro?

purchase stringing kit, promptly throw it in the trash....

If you really want to string a trakker pro pocket (which, if you read this thread...i'm not sure why you'd want to), instructions are included with the stringing kit. It's pretty straight forward.

I just have a question for all you girls and first of all yes i am a guy... is it legal to have a mesh pocket in girls lacrosse because the other day when we beat cocheco the girls team came up and like 3 of em had mesh.

i have a tempest with the pro takker and got a free synergy with the web ex pocket and i love my tempest, even though im a goalie that stick is like my child. I have a pocket deep enough that its illegal but since i only practice with it its alright

I dunno....i like the trakker pro that i have in my apex. It's a little worn down, but the two synthetic runners in the middle and the two leathers on the outside do create a nice channel for the ball that I just haven't been able to get in other pockets so far. I haven't tried too many other pockets, but this one has worked pretty well for me.

blowing your money? spending 19.95 for a kit? are you serious. find me something cheaper. this is the most ridiculous thing i have ever read. trakekr and trakker pro arent marketing gimics they ARE the market. they are the only pockets that should be used bc they are the best adn theres no aruging that. that is how it is. its not even an opinion bc they are just so high quality an above everything else. why do you think the amonte's pocket basically exactly resembles the debeer pocket? yeahhhh.

I disagree-I know many people who prefer traditional pockets, while I strongly prefer the STX precision pocket. As you will find stated in other threads, the protrakker and trakker pockets never fully break in. Its all about personal preference.

Everyone loves the trakker pro.

Mesh is illegal except for youth (1st and 2nd grade) and goalie sticks.

trakkers don't need to be broken in. they already feel like heaven. i thought the stx precision was trash...every time it rained in pracice i thought i was playing with guys stick. its horrible. and then when it dries its hard as a rock. the most stupid pocket ive ever seen. if you just look at the stringing job and where everythign is tied off it just plain sucks. like who would ever think of something like that? it felt like i was playing with a tennis racket or something
