please please please help me!!!! i really want to play lacrosse in the spring for my town, and i have never played before. i want to buy a stick and some gloves this and practice at the westfield state college gym this winter so i can be half decent in the spring. my brother played lacrosse years ago when it was just starting to get into some of the few private schools that offered it, and he used brine, stx, and i think warrior gear. i kno that these brands are good but are there any other brands worth looking at? also what is some good gear to buy like specific names and serial numbers if possible? i am set to spend any amount of money and dont want any basic stuff but someting that will last maybe a season or two. i really really want to play and already kno how to cradle, pass and shoot. i have been running cross country for 2 years and have played hockey for 3, so my parents are prepared to make room for another sport. any possible help would be great and you would be doing such a good deed that i wouldnt be able to thank you enough!! any info would be great, Hypersquid1

I live in western mass. where are you gunna be playing this upcoming year? And for sticks I've always prefered warrior i dont really know why but i've had good luck with them so i've stuck with them. for a helmet just get a cascade of some sort and for arm pads and gloves i'd go with either brine or warrior (i use brine arm pads and then i have a pair of warrior gloves and i'm getting some brines in my school colors for christmas i prefer the brines) as for shoulder pads i dn i use harrows right now and what i had before were warriors cut down so they were like nothing. Hope I helped and PM if you have any other questions. Also If you'd like to do some instructional lacrosse over the winter i can get you hooked up with the program i play for during summer, fall, and winter.

Welcome to the forums Hypersquid1! First off, always search before you make new threads. We've had many threads on what gear to buy for beginners. But for now, I guess I should answer your question. For beginner heads, I might recomend the gait icon, gait intrepid, warrior evolution, and STX proton (not plus) if you can get your hands on one. All of these are high quality heads that you will be able to use for many seasons, especially the Proton. For a shaft, a standard alluminum shaft that comes with a complete stick should work well for now. However, if you want something of a higher quality, the Warrior cu31 alloy is a great shaft at a great price. As for gloves, the Warrior hypnos are great high quality gloves, but may be a bit pricey. Try to avoid cheaping out too much on the gloves or you will be stuck with a lousy piece of equipment. Warrior adrenaline 5.0's might work, or maybe Brine Spartans. When it comes time to get more gear, I recomend either the CLH2 or the Cpro, both from Cascade, for helmets, depending on your age and level of play. For elbow pads, it's pretty hard to go wrong. For shoulder pads I recomend the Gait intrepids. They're cheap and offer great flexibility.
