I've seen more and more girls using this shaft. It seems that it holds up the hype and is a good shaft. If I had the bucks I'd buy one myself but I dont.

i just bought a harrow shaft today, beucase the usual lacrosse store i go to didn't have the kryptolyte c405 in orange wire that i wanted.... and since i needed a shaft, i went w/ the harrow. this flex thing... is non exsistent. unless i'm not strong enouhg to flex it. the only cool this is that it gets a little thinner where ur top hand is, and it feels different. but then again, i haven't played w/ it yet

I just ordered mine the other day and I can not wait until it gets here. As an attacker I love light shafts and I think that this is the best one out there right now. With shipping it cost me almost eighty dollars but in my mind it is well worth it. I don't like to wear gloves, so the rubber on the shaft keeps your hands from slipping instead of tape, and it just fits so well in your hands. I give it two thumbs up, and if you have the money it is definitely worth buying and trying!

well i finally started using my new stick while teaching lacrosse to a bunch of youngones, and wow... i took a few passes, and it was so amazing. the harrow shaft is so light, and the grip is good. so when ur hands get sweaty you don't need gloves. i got the red one to match my head. the pics are on my webshots site, and wow, its just an amazing shaft. so light! but i feel like its gonna break. i've gotten mixed messages on wether its durable or not.

The harrow shaft is made out of graphite so it is extremely durable. Itshould last you for a long time. They made it to be able to withstand hard checks and they kept it light. I just got mine today and I can not wait to use it.

Man for as much money as that thing was it better not break. I am a little disappointed that it is not supposed to dent though. I always thought that the dents were pretty cool. Like battle scars!

I'm all for that!!! I love my dents. It gives my shaft a "vintage" appeal. Plus it shows one is not afraid to get down and dirtayyy. Haha.

07-24-2003, 03:51 PM
yea the harrow doesn't dent.. the paint just chips away at where the hit was taken. over all, i'm LOVING this shaft. so light, and such great grip!

do you guys know if you can cut down the harrow shafts any? i play attack & like my sticks shorter, for ball handling .. & i don't want to get a harrow if i can't cut it.
laxbabe2121
08-01-2003, 10:59 AM
yea you can cut the harrow shafts. just remember to th ink about which way you wanna put it. flex point at the top or on the bottom. i have mine at the top. and i cut about 2 inches offa the bottom. its like a wooden cork at the bottom 1.5 inches, and then you'll cut thru this plastic.. bubble thingie. once you cut it open, you'll know what i'm talking about.

hmm, but there is no butt on those, right? so do you just leave the end open?
laxbabe2121
08-01-2003, 02:41 PM
well you have to put a butt cap on it. i have an orange powercap on it. i really like it alot, cuz it jabs my other girl i'm marking in the back. its kinda funny acaully. but remmeber you need a butt, or else you can't play! so bring an extra one, cuz you know how sometimes those things fall off!
laxstar003
08-01-2003, 02:51 PM
so you can just buy a butt?
i've never seen a butt on a harrow. :\
laxbabe2121
08-01-2003, 07:46 PM
hahah yea when you go get ur harrow, ask for a butt end. they also have those powercaps. they come in differnt colors.. its kinda pointy at one end. check it out. its made my STX. its great on defense. i had my youth team get them! it also prevents ur hand from sliding down to far.

if you're considering buying a harrow shaft, you'd better do it soon. effective 10/1/03, harrow shafts will return to their normal price of $85. so better buy it while it's $75, and enter 5692 in the promotional code box for free shipping.

I have a powergrip endcap by STX as well and I love it but I definitley reccomend taping it to the end of your shaft. I had mine for a while and never bothered to tape it to my shaft and it fell off repeatedly on a Triax 6000. Once I taped it a few weeks ago it was fine and the transistion between the shaft and endcap was even better.

ok, I've sat by and just kinda did my reading on buying a Harrow shaft and I've almost reached my decision... but I figured I might ask one last time before I make the final decision.
I'm a line defender at the college level and I have an Apex w/ a Triax 7000 men's shaft, which I really like. The problem: I dont wear gloves and the shaft slides all over the place when I sweat (and I sweat ALOT). I'd only be getting the men's shaft (I hate the women's size).
Question 1: Think a defender could benefit from the shaft?
Question 2: Will it fit easily on an Apex head?
Question 3: Worth the $75?
Question 4: Is the flex on the shaft worth getting as a defender/ women's lax player??
Thanks SOOOO much guys. $75 bucks is alot out of my pocket and I figured before I splurged I might as well ask around, and no one I personally know (even the guys I know that play) have even heard of Harrow, nonetheless played w/ one. Thanks again!

they say its really strong, and the flex isn't gonna help that much for a defender. actually scratch that. it helps you throw the ball further, like on transitions. umm the men's sizes didn't fit on my tempest... but if you have an apex, it will fit since you already have a mens shaft on right now right? i think its worth the money, buecase the grip is really good. i like it alot! just when you slide your hands up and down repeatedly, it starts to burn your palms a tad bit. have you checked out that shaft by stx the teear drop? GREAT GRIP!!

Hey I was wondering what Harrow shaft (men's women's size etc...) you would reccomend for my Tempest? Thanks so much!

get the title 9 shaft. its the only womens' shaft out by harrow. that's what i put on my tempest.

OK well i've had a harrow for quite awhile now. I must say that I do enjoy it. The flex won't work for the girls because they can't really crank away at it because of no pocket and because they aren't strong enough sorry girls. However it still has great grip which helps the girls out even if they are sweating. All and all girls if you want to just save money you don't need to bother getting the flex shaft just get the shaft that doesn't have the flex if its cheaper. Guys I'd definitely recommend this shaft. I shoot faster and more accurate with it. Granted it doesn't just add 10 mph to your shot but it gives it 2-3 more mph and the grip is nice. I'd recommend gettin one.

don't listen to liquid mercury on what he said about getting the one w/ out the flex. trust me, you want the skinnier part at the top. and there's only one womens shaft out right now. and that one has the flex pt.

LaxChc11 you dont want to buy the women's shaft. Make sure you buy the men's one. If you dont feel like getting the flex point they are coming out with a shaft w/out one soon but only for men.
laxchc11
09-10-2003, 09:02 PM
I would only get the men's to begin w/.. 2 new freshmen on my team have them in the women's size and I don't like them at all... I already play w/ a guy's shaft and I love it, so I wouldn't want a girls anyway

Ahh okay. I was just saying not to get it because of the smaller sized handle which you mentioned you dont like.
