Yeah, just tighten all of the shooters a bit, or make the top hockey lace really tight.

if you want more whip add a v or u shooter below two or three vertical shooters
and sidewalls are more of a factor in whip than shooters are
try stringing a little bit of a higher or deeper pocket... theres a high pocket tutorial in hte tutorial list

You want to keep the shooting strings gradually tightened for a smooth release. You want to loosen the more to the bottom shooting strings while keeping the ones up top tighter.

Loose sidewalls mean a deeper pocket.. so yes, if you want a deeper pocket do that. But for whip, just tighten all the shooting string. Make the top one the tightest than the second one a little looser, and so on. If you already have them like that, than just tighten each one a little bit into you have as much whip as you want.

If you have tight shooters you will get more whip.
Shooters should always be tighetst at the top.
Try less shooters if you want more whip. 1 tight lace and 1/2 hockey laces maybe??

Loose sidewalls mean nothing but an inconsistent pocket, and which will become an illegal pocket. Stretched mesh and tight sidewalls would be compltely fine. Now the whip answer has been answered a few times in this thread, but please read the stickies and search before you post.

In order to get the least amount of whip, gradually tighten your shooting strings as they get higher in the head. Make the lowest one fairly loose, the second one a bit tighter, etc. etc. until you get to the last one and that should be fairly tight.
This was sed in the post by livin4lax in the stickie and he sed to get the least amount u have the bottom one the loosest so how come some ppl are sayin thats to gain whip so do i just do the opposite of this or idk

yeah, and it makes sense. loosest - least tightest - most

there are a few ways to obtain whip/adjust whip..
each pocket is very individual. whether or not you have whip depends a lot on where your pocket is, how many shooters you use, how you string the sidewalls, how tight your shooters are, how deep your pocket is, your throwing style, etc, etc... there is a very large combination of factors that will determine how your individual stick throws.. therefore, there really is no "perfect" stick.. or string job.. you really have to tweak pockets to suite your own individual playing style/preferences...
there are some rough guidelines though if you want a good and consistent throwing pocket.. string your top string and sidewalls as tight as they will go. use locking sidewalls so that the mesh does not move up and down with the ball. try to break your pocket in with your bottom string pretty tight. use whatever shooting string set up works for you.. you can use two shooters with a V or three straight shooters, or two, or whatever works for u. before your pocket is broken in, string your shooters so that your top most shooter is tight and as you move down, your shooters should gradually get looser. if you run your hand up the pocket, your hand really shouldn't get caught. now break your pocket in.. get the pocket a little wet, and use the butter knife and ball trick over and over.. start in the middle, let it sit overnight, then do it from the bottom of the pocket up to the shooters.. try to keep all your strings as tight as possible (except your shooters of course.)
once you have used the ol butter knife trick, pound the pocket with a ball or pocket pounder to get an even stretch .. pound the front and the back of the pocket.. once that process is complete, take your stick to a wall and make adjustments to the shooters and bottom string as necessary.. keep pounding the pocket over time until the pocket is broken in.. you'll know that it is broken in when the ball doesn't roll back and forth in the pocket.. it will naturally grip the mesh ..

no problem.. stick issues will become less and less prevalent as you gain more "tweeking" experience.. once you figure out what to adjust to "fix" your pocket, you won't worry about it nearly as much..
