i'm 15 years old, 6'1 185. I can bench around 150 and squat 200+. I have good body control and solid footwork. Very solid stick skills and a 70+ mile per hour shot. I started my lacrosse career as a defenseman. I like both middie and defense but i seem to have fallen down about skillwise with the long pole, since doing indoor. I like both virtually equally well. My coach does not care what i play (he has no opinion really). Which position, middie or defense, nothing else, do i have a better shot at succeeding in (make all star-teams, perform well, "look good", etc.)?

Whats your dash at? until i see how fast you can run i would say defense, and whats your mile at?

Yeah you should probably continue playing D. Just hit the wall a decent amount and your skills should come right back.

I don't know, any 15 year old who shoots 70 might belong at middie or attack depending on your speed.

Shot speed doesn't mean everything, but yes, id recommend you continue to play defense. STick at it and become a better player.

you could always try lsm, but you won't be playing the whole game if thats what you decide. defense seems to be the most suiting otherwise.

hows your footwork is another question? Are you a defensive guy? Are you getting burned? Which would be more enjoyable for you, breaking ankles and beating a goalie? Or sliding like a bus and owning the hole? I mean youre only 15, have fun with the game.

whatever you think you should play, practise at your position first then tell the coach what you would like to play..... then he will see if you are good enough for it... until then stick with D... its my fav position in box and field

If you are fast then middie would be suitable, but if not, I'd stick to d. I'd stick to D if I were you anyway because that's what you've been playing. Hit the wall.
