Hi there!

I don't know how much do you know about finnish lacrosse, but I don't know much more either because I'm quite new player. Anyway we just grounded a new team to Turku (Finland). It's something like seventh lacrosse club in this country. The game has been played since 2002 in Helsinki.

I think the players in our team has a lot questions when we are trying to make clear the rules of the game of trying to think what shaft would be good to buy. So if you have questions about finnish lacrosse, I can try to answer and if I have some questions about the game it would be nice if someone could answer.

Some links:

You've got questions? Then Ask away mate:

my question to you: how did you get 7 new clubs in 3 years?

Do you mean that 7 clubs is too few or much? Antti Salomaa (Helsinki Lacrosse) brought the game to Finland and have enlarged it's success in many other towns in Finland. Finland is not so big country and when something new comes, people and especially media is interested about it. Turku Titans is the first club in Turku, they started in the early summer -05 and we grounded our team (Turku Penetrators) in the autum -05 (in Turku too). So lacrosse have been in the newspapers couple of times. Helsinki lacrosse came to Turku and played against Turku Titans. Couple of hundred watchers, which means that the seats were full in the small inside hall. Media had been told about the mach before in the newspapers so all the interested people were there - and after the match Titans got at least 9 new palyers. So that's how lacrosse gets bigger and bigger in Turku at least - it's the same situation anywhere else in Finland where people play lacrosse!

And I have a question too. I just bought new stick (Brine Answer) and how can I made a good pocket to it? So what should I do to a new stick? We don't have any players that have played before, so if someone could help?

Looks like a bad case of Square eyes. It's like tunnel vision, but all you can see is the cage.

Maybe you need a neon sign?

i mean that 7 teams in 3 years is phenonomal! well don

just keep punching the pocket with a ball or find a brick wall and throw against it...repeatedly

oh an wheelax, are you number 2? if so...my coach would say move your freakin feet when you are off ball...statues cant score ;)

Yeah Ivari the best way break in your new pocket is to run warm water over the mesh and then just pound it in with a ball.

Or you can do it this way - http://www.lacrosseforums.com/showthread.php?t=33696

Hey congratulations on the success in Finland!
Personally, I don't believe that shafts matter very much, the head is what really makes the stick. The Answer is a very good choice. If you want to spend a lot of money on a shaft, then you could possibly look for the STX Titanium, but a solid, less expensive choice would be the Warrior Kryptolyte.
