I was just wondering if anyone could tell what the best mesh for my back up stick would be. It is a Warrior Nemesis if that makes a difference.

I used to really like regular hard mesh, until monster mesh came out. I've had success with 5d and 6d with a Nemmy. Question>>what is your 1st stick? and what mesh do you have for that?
If its all preference, and what you're comfortable with, I'd keep some things consistent btwn the 1st and 2nd goalie sticks...

moondog nailed it. You should keep your backup stick strung the same way as your game stick because it will be much easier to pick it up mid game and be comfortable with it.

Si both of you guys nailed it. Also to help you out you should have the same amount of whip, hold, w/e you goalies have in your pocket so its exactly like your 1st stick.

I just started playing goalie after being a long pole all my life and this is probably a really stupid question, (I'm not trying to hijack the thread but you all seem like experienced goalies) but when I throw is the mesh supposed to go inside out? Like pocket goes the above the sidewalls instead of below. Is that common or should I get it restrung? Thanks again.

If its soft mesh, or really broken in hard mesh, then its natural, dont get it restrung.

It's hard mesh, thank you I was about to go to the local store and get it restrung. :worship:

if it threw good gfor you it really shouldnt matter. and to get back on topic, i would use the same mesh and play with them equally, that way theyre equally broken in too.

gotta go with moondog on this and say go with what your game stick has, unless thats soft mesh, then I'd go with hard just for thoose rainy days. But remember, its all preference.

that can actually be a good thing. When you save a shot, the pocket will flex in and give the ball more give, reducing rebounds. It gives the stick more time to slow down the ball, instead of the ball hitting a rock and bouncing out. If it throws well and isnt to whippy, its fine. I would consider having the pocket inside out while taking shots, it will reduce rebounds.
