which team do you think will have the better start in the NLL? personally i think this is going to be a really tough one to choose but i think portland will because of the goaltending they have...especially with the acquistion of dallas eliuk from philly

Please remember he might not play.

I like Portland's chances. 12 guys from BC has gotta prove something.

a big plus for portland is that alot these guys played in anaheim so they already have a chemistry. then you add a stud like merrill and i don't think its close in the battle of expansion teams.

I think all you Brodie Merril fans will be unpleasently surprised. Since this kid broke into the pro level, I haven't heard squat about him. No one on the inside is even buzzing about him. Thats extremely rare, when talking about a kid slated to make an impact.

Dude,

I watched this guy play all through the 2004 OLA playoffs, including 6 games against the 2004 Mann Cup champs. He's the complete package - big, strong, fast, great head for the game, decent stick for a big man, and can beat people up if he has to (that is when Patrick doesn't step in to protect the kid brother!).

No need for a buzz (You don't notice good defensemen as easily as bad ones!).

Barring injury, Brodie WILL start this year, and WILL make an impact in the NLL!

He sure made an impact in the MLL.

half of the edmonton team has played through bantam to juniour together so i doubt that portlands team chemistry can compare.

Edmonton, without a doubt

The Rush will have solid chemistry and also alot of heart so what they may lack in skill they will forsurely make up there. Look for break out years from 2 players on there team Jordon Cornfield and Colin Sherbanuk. I have practiced with the Rush and they are way more solid than people will expect especially in net Patty Campbell is one hell of a tender. Portland has Eliuk and Merrill and the team chemistry that they may bring from the Anaheim team will get them nowehre as it did Anaheim. So its Rush by a mile.

That's a tough decision. Both teams have some pretty good players, but I have a feeling that Edmonton will start out really strong, even if Portland has got awesome goaltending.

bot portland and ecmonton are quite talented in between the pipes.
rush- dwieght matchea and pat campbell
portland-elliuk? and matt king

king and matchea both played behind cosmo in the wla, although king started the majority of games before cosmo rejoined the team he didnt dress for the majority of playoffs and didnt dress at all during the mann cup

aaron bold is also still on the portland roster so they may rotate 3 goalies if eliuk cant committ to all games im guessing
