I 've heard, and it look's likt it is true that The Score/Headline Sports here in Canada isn't broadcasting games this year. Nothing on the NLL site, nothing on The Score site. I heard rumors that they are picking up oh-so-exciting to watch....poker.

Score is a $1.98 network that is only interested in cheap. I guess the Rock became too expensive. Good riddance, Sportsnet has always produced a better product.

I do hope Score will continue to re-broadcast out of market games as in years previous. The Canadian rights for out of market games should be fairly cheap.

True enough. I hated having to watch games with that annoying ticker scrolling by or breaking away right in the middle of a play to update the latest basketball or dodgeball scores. But I do tip my hat to them for having a game nearly every week when no one else did.

....... I hated having to watch games with that annoying ticker scrolling by or breaking away right in the middle of a play to update the latest basketball or dodgeball scores......

I don't know if I've told the story about one Rochester @ Philadelphia game I watched last season, but I almost put a boot through the TV set for this.

The Score cut away from exciting live action to show a replay. What replay did they show? A goal that happened about 2 minutes prior IN THE SAME EFFING GAME THEY WERE SHOWING LIVE!! :banghead:

(It's really not the Score's fault, their CRTC license has them as a "Sports News" station. They are limited to the amount of live sports they're allowed to cover and are required to have a certain number of minutes dedicated to sports news every hour of programming. Rather than getting upset at Score, maybe I should take my :guns: (unregistered, of course) to Ottawa and sort out the CRTC! )

CSIS regularly monitors this site RockStar - you better take that back. If you hear sirens, run buddy, run!

Disclaimer to CSIS:

I still maintain that the CRTC needs to be sorted out, but I hereby promise and swear that I won't sort them out in the way I implied in my last post.

Besides, if you check that federal gun registry, you'll note that my name is not listed. Thanks to that registry, the government knows, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that I do not own any guns :dummy:

(For what it's worth, I am planning to buy a gun soon. The biggest reason for this is that I may have a gun ready for the cursed day where a federal agent comes to my door intending to take away my gun! )

As bad as The Score was, it was still the only station I had to watch NLL games. Now I'll have to go through a whole season without watching a game.

Welcome to life outside of North America. The only lacrosse we get on TV down in Australia is the highlights of the Australian league, the NCAA final four and the occasional MLL game. No Box or NLL.

What happened to all the progress regarding weekly games on OLN?

I'm quite dissapointed that we wont get to see any NLL games from other regions on the Score this year.

What about TSN? You would think they would catch on that the NLL is really starting to pick up?

BC:

If you get yourself a better TV package that has Sportsnet Ontario and Sportsnet West, you'll get all the Rock and Roughneck games.

Either that, or just find a friendly sportsbar with a top-notch TV package.

I watched a Sting game on COX, and a Mammoth game on Altitude for ones I wanted to see but Score didn't pick up last year.

you can only watch if you live in the region ie- i live in sportsnet pacific and cant watch any of the sportsnet games unless they are on pacific all other regions are blacked out. This is due to the fact sportsnet is not Canadas national NLL broadcaster the Score is for one more season.

I hope that there is going to be a deal with OLN or else I will only be seeing the All-Star Game and the Champions Cup Final (just like last year). :banghead:

You can't be serious that the Score still owns Canadian rights!

I'm sorry to hear that, guess I won't be watching Roughneck games.

What about a possible partnership with CBC in Canada. Wouldn't it be nice to turn on the TV on a friday night and see 'Lacrosse Night in Canada'?

In all seriousness, does anyone think that CBC could see that Lacrosse is Canada's national game, and that Lacrosse could bring in huge numbers in a primetime slot in Canada on CBC on Friday nights?

I personally think it would be better then Coronation street on a friday night on CBC.

There's info on the Mammoth site that the game's going to be broadcast on Altitude. At least the western US will see it. It doesn't say anything about any other broadcast networks.
