I'm looking into installing field turf (artificial turf) in my backyard and making a small lax field. I was wondering if any of you guys have experience with ordering/installing turf, and if so, what company did you use? and how was the service/price?
Thanks for the help.

you would have to look to the distributors for pricing per sq ft, etc..
I do know that there is extensive "ground" work that needs to be done.. it consists of levelling, adding a base, then applying the surface.. there is also extensive run-off and drainage work that has to be done as well..
fields can run up to the millions as well.. FYI.. if you are making a small lax field, expect to pay anywhere from 200,000 and up

The newer version of synthetic turf runs between $400,000 and $800,000
We provide a start to finish installation that can include the removal of existing turf, capping or removal of sprinkler lines and creation of a mechanically compacted sub base. Also the many pounds of material that are part of the infill mix add to the installation cost. You can expect to spend between $6.00 to $7.00 per square foot. Other products manufactured by Field Turf will cost more depending on the type of turf.
(field turf of Nevada)
essentially if you wanted to make half a field, you would probably spend upwards of $226,000 for a 180 x 180 or so foot field..

Yeah, I thought about that, but it seems like that stuff would get torn up pretty quickly.

It wouldn't even be close to half a field. The area's probably about 15-20 yards long and 15 yards wide, however, I haven't taken the measurements yet. I've actually found a place online that sells it for $1.75 per square foot (amazing price), but I'm going to research the quality of their product.
Thanks for your help wheelax2.

Thanks for your unnecessary post that contributed nothing to the thread.
