Anybody play in the NW suburban Conf. or the Lake Confrence in Minnesota? if so who do you play for and who are some good players on your team?

im a junior and i play attack for maple grove.

well i played in the one of the lake confrences last year i cant remember which one, but im on Holy Angels and some good players on my team: Ryan Hurley--Cornell, Tony Libera--um idk where he is going but he is good, and Derek Michalski--a great d-pole, not sure where he is going either.

ya im pretty sure that Hurley started when he was a freshman and idk about the other guys started as freshman but they started when they were sophomores, they are seniors now...hopefully i will be as good as them, cuz last year(freshman) i was on first line mid but technically i didnt start because we put out a long pole for the faceoff so i was rarely out there for the faceoff,but as soon as we won the draw the pole would come off and i would hgo on.

i play for mpls now (went to benilde last year) and one of the most underrated players max thomas olson is a goalie and he is sick would be a all state player if he played for a more competitive team which hopefully we will be this year

He had an article in the star tribune today, about elite team and how hes going to Cornell, and was offered scholarships to 10/20 top lax schools. Wow, I guess hes alright. How did he get that good? Was he always this good, even as a freshman?

Really i didnt see that...i'll have to check that out.
But ya he is real good, he can score with ease against pretty much anyone, our man up offense was basically jus give the ball to Hurley and let him do his magic. He has this one move where he comes around the net,then he gets doubled teamed by 2 poles, turns and does a fake jump shot all the poles turn around and then he just puts in an easy goal. He did that once and even the goalie turned around because he thought he shot it.He is quite amazing. He flew out to Syracuse and Coach Desko picked him up at the airport and gave him a tour of the city and the campus and all the lacrosse facilities, i think that is jus like a dream.He is probably my hero...

I think, from what i heard, the he only started in like 6th grade or around there. Last year(when i was a freshman) i had playing for longest out of everybody, i started in kindergarden, so that would have made last year my 10th year playing, i thought that that was really weird.

Do many other players on your teams have oppurtunities to play College lacrosse? are many playing D2-D3 ball?

ya there at least 2 other guys that will be able to play in college...im not sure if they are getting recruited by D1, D2, D3 and what not but they will play some where....at least D3, not club.

I think Holy Angels(my team) will have a chance. We have a really tought schedule this year, probably going to be the strongest schedule.

By the way Teo, 8th grade/middle school has nothing to do about high school lacrosse. Its a completly different game. They are more athletes, more players, more everything. A lot of kids can be naturally talented and just pick up a stick and be good.

Anyways...anyone going to the Swarm home/season Opener tonite?

Right- but what im saying is that we have a good feeding program. I was one of those athletic kids who just picked up a stick- not to be stuck up or bragging, but I started at the begininning of last summer season and end up making the Minnesota Chill and going to Colorado after 3 months of experience. All im saying is that we have a lot of athletic talented freshman coming in this year.

I don't think the Chill is that great....i made the U15 team when i was 13, plus it was my first year of field cuz i grew up playing box. Although i am trying out for the U17 Chill team next year, the team to be on is the MN Elite team or at least U19 Chill but i dont think as many kids will be going out for the team and they will be going to want to play on the Elite team...i would love to play on the Elite team this year but is definatly not gonna happen....but i digress...
Anyone playing in the winter league at Rosemount? I will be on the Holy Angels team and probably be there other times in case anyone needs extra players.

Blake dominates, I went to the championship last year and they had a fast break from the faceoff, first play of the game, scored in 7 seconds tops. Made the defence look like a bunch of gorillas playing soccer. I have very strange comments, don't I?

Blake maybe, but not in the coming years. there jv is WEAK. Im currently a freshman at Mtka, no tryouts yet so I dont know what team im on, but the Blake JV was weak. Our MTKA 8th grade team was the best team in the state- look for us to be coming up soon. We played the Minnesota Chill U-15 team, and beat them 15-4. Btw, I was 14 last year so we were playing kids older than us.

Yeah you were never on Chill so I don't know why you would be playing with them...

chill doesn't mean anything. all of our players my age that made chill as 8th graders were on jv last year as juniors. to add to an earlier post Hurley is the best player i've ever played against. i wasn't matched up on him most of the game but landing a slide on him was hard as hell. he can do it all. good luck to him at the next level

Ur an idiot. Blake hasn't had a very good JV team because they don't have too. Anyone who is any good comes in 9th grade and plays on their varsity team. So they will still be good in the coming years, and tonka will still suck. :thumbsup:

Does anyone know if there is any teams or leagues up by the border, box, field or indoor? Looking for something when I might live in International Falls sometime with my dad. And im not sure if box is played in that area in Canada or if its just eastern Canada or what?
