Only Ryan is playing NLL this year? Is Casey sitting out or waiting for a contract from Portland?

And Mikey, love'em or hate'em, we all know would be a major draw for the league in this first post Gait season. Can't they figure out a way to pay him real money and promote? It would take at least six figures to get him to play, plus a flak jacket. All I can hear is half the crowd placing a bounty on his head, the rest cheering for an air gait . . .

Casey is decent at box but it's possible that he's just taking the year off. Ryan is clearly the best boxla baller in the family.
I think that Mikey Powell would only be a big draw for fans in the states. People in Canada would only come to watch him get destroyed. I don't think he's going to be nearly as successful in box as he is in field....if he ever even plays box that is.

liek nemesis said the only reason Canadians would come to see mikey play is to watch him get destroyed.

I read in IL that Casey was sitting out and moving to Boston to concentrate on his Brine job. Wouldn't you think his best contribution to Brine at this time would be to play? Hit some appearances while on the road, keep Brine out there with all this talk of Reebok . . .
His Warrior contract had small performance based incentives above his $60K salary (if it were in effect '05). Not sure what he negotiated w/ Brine but I guess it's better than the $25k or so the Jax could pay him.

Yeah, and if you believe that, I have some ocean front property in Nebraska for sale. Real cheap, with a nice view of the boardwalk.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, Ryan Powell is the most talented of the three, and I will go to my grave with that assessment. What he lacks (if anything) to his brothers, he makes up for in his grit.

Casey's just not too well suited to box lax. Ryan's the only Powell i would consider to be "durable" enough to really succeed at it. I agree with Hooligan, Ryan's the best all around Powell. Casey may be frustrated and given up on indoor lacrosse.

Hooligan, how much you selling it for? And is it near Lincoln, or what? Hahaha

well, from what I heard around the Jax tryout, Casey and Ryan are both part of the team, and Casey isn't playing this year due to some undisclosed injury.

mikey will not be playin box for a while. Or atleast that is what he expressed as an answer to a question at the premiere of his documentary in syracuse, ny. He said that he was focusing on the buisness side of lacrosse(and hinted at a big mp product line coming next year) he wants to spread the game so like other professional sports yuo can make a living out of playin lax.Or at least that is what he said. Oh and also Casey could have gotten a injury from the movie that he served as a stunt double in about a surfer and lax player that moved from the east coast to the west coast. Sorry i dont know the name, but that could be the reason he is out.

Hurt? Hurt for real? or just hurt like the year or two he took off after guys like Terry Bullen and Pat Coyle finished sorting him out?

It's too bad Mikey didn't surface this year, I really wanted to see if he could stand out in the NLL. Of the three, I agree that Ryan probably has the brightest future in the NLL, but I was curious to see if Mikey could prove that wrong. SJ has Mikey's rights, and they also have the two best US-born box attackers (Boyle and Regan, if Regan shows up this year).

If MP was to flourish anywhere in the NLL, SJ was probably the place.

Read my post. ok

I did read it. Which part in particular do I need to re-read? and which part of my post does your post answer?

The only accepted fact in your post is that Mikey ain't playing NLL.

The stuff about Casey just looked like a guess.

Do you actually know anything for certain?

The only thing that is "hurt" on Casey is his feelings, from reading box fan quotes about him.

Laxer1241's report there sounds about accurate. Its a typical Casey response. I'd be willing to bet he actually said that in regards to his box career.

Do I believe it? Yeah. Fact is, its better for both worlds if thats what Casey actually does.

I hear little Mikey is taking at least two years away from box to shoot testosterone and Human Growth Hormone so he can survive pro box. Probably a good idea.
