My son wants a new cp for christmas. He is a HS soph and is still using his Warrior MPG which he started with in middle school. It is obviously too small but he swears by the mobility. I know the Glad is a fav but it looks bulky compared to the MPG. Is anybody using or tried the DeBeer Intrepid??
I am in favor of the Forum reinstating the Goalie Forum. I had to get that off my chest.

I'll second the Glad CP. Great protection, and I haven't found mobility to be a problem at all. I am 6' however, so that may be a factor, but if your son is shorter they also make a medium.

Yes!!!
Anyways, I would also recommend the Gladiator, I tried it on for a shot session, and it is very nice. Great protection, good mobility. One bad thing we noticed: the two tiny "shoulder-protectors" fell off when it was being adjusted. But nobody else I know had this problem, so I'm guessing it was just bad stitching.

No, while it's the best CP I've ever used, I think the quality control is still a tad suspect on the Glad. The velcro attachment for the belly pad on mine ripped when I went to adjust it. I am currently awaiting a replacement belly pad from STX. Sadly, I think this quality control issue is not limited to STX.

i couldn't agree with u more...as for the cp, like others have said, I hav the gladiator cp and love it. i thnk it gives me great protection and mobility. mines actually a little big on me but still gives the proper protections...it's not that bukly imo, but i would absolutely recommend it.

I live on the Main Line, in Lower Merion Township. I played my high school lax in Westchester County, New York, but played briefly for Penn in 90-91, and then played club lax at Penn my remaining three years.

I'd reccomend the gladiator too. Although i'm not sure about the belly pad or velcro things falling off, I personally took them off and just play without them. I havent found a single problem with mobility and it feels great.
