So this is my fourth team flc camp and they have all been a lot of fun. I was a little disapointed in this one. the coaches were good, but things seemed really unorganized and i didnt learn as much as i would have liked to. I didnt think it was worth the $195. thoughts?

I went... It was my first camp of any sorts. It was ok, but the weather was miserable, and what was taught was nothing that I couldn't have picked up from a few videos... But it was nice to get to play with all the best kids from around the state on one field.

The best kids from around the state were definately not at that camp.

I thought it was pretty good but not worth $195. Probably would have been a little better if I hadn't sprained my ankle half way through the first day.

Yeah, it looked like it might be a bit of a rip, that's why I didn't go.

What other camps are you Florida guys going to? This summer I'm going to try to go to either the Princeton or Syracuse camp, but if that doesn't work out, I'll be going to the Dixie Top 105 (I think that's the name) camp in North Carolina.

Go to Navy, its worth every penny.

Well **** off. It's a lot better than I see every day at practice. Seminole High isn't exactly the hot bed of central Florida. I know it isn't South Florida, but it's 50 times better than what I go up against at school every day...

LymanLax28, I went to Princeton this past summer and to be quite frank I wasn't impressed. The camp took on such a tone that they didnt work the campers hard enough to where the 500 bucks plus the money for the plane ticket is worth it. I cant speak for syracuse but I imagine it would be much the same. You have to remember this is a fundraiser for the school.

On the other hand id have to agree with CFLaxer. I went to Navy before my sophmore year and the camp was incredible. They had you working hard and it really improves your skills a lot. And if you go up a day before Annapolis is a pretty cool place.

Thanks for the tip, you too CFLaxer. I'll look into Navy, it could definitely be a posibility, because it's so much closer than Princeton and it sounds like it's amazing.

Are you guys going to any camps this summer?

I don't know yet. I went to St Leos in Tampa last summer. I know I defininetly leave the state this time but money is an issue. Any suggestions?

That's where I went too. I wasn't very impressed, the games were fun, but I didn't really learn a thing.

Really? I liked St. Leos. I think there is definietly a noticable difference in my game. But than again I don't know how the boys side was run, obviously.

I'm going to Princeton, Brown, and Elite 180 where Harvard, Yale, Dartmouth, Amherst, and a few other schools that I'm interested in go to recruit. I might drop princeton and just do the latter two camps, because 10 straight days of lacrosse camps is suicide... haha. And I'd prefer Brown over Princeton anyway...

I was at the Holiday Camp and I wasn't impressed at all. I enjoyed the NYIT coach. He was hilarious. Other than that I didn't have that much fun at all. I luckily didn't have to pay the 195 because I am a member of Team FLC but I do feel like I would of been pissed if I had. THe only thing that was close to fun was the game after the camp ended against the Fall Ball/Holiday camp allstars (even though we basically scrimaged ourselves).

On a side note Princeton camp is fun if you want to scrimage and learn the basics. I went there last summer and it was kind of a disappointment. I had fun and got to play with some pretty decent players. Most of the kids though have skills that are comparable to FL kids.

If you want a good camp where you will learn a ton, go to Providence Elite. It is run by Providence College which is a D1 team. I was invited there bc I was talking about going there to play so they invited me to come out. Otherwise I wouldn't of even considered going there but it turned out to be the best camp I went to all summer (out of 6 camps). I learned really advanced offenses and defenses and really honed my skills.

For that providence camp... pretty much, if you are remotely good you can get invited to the camp.

Who are you? Because I didnt see anyone on team FLC that was good enough to be going to providence.

I'm telling you... a lot of the kids that go to that Providence camp are not good enough to actually play at Providence... they just send out mad invites to kids to generate money for the program

They held tryouts back in september, we only really go to one tournament. Its the vail tournament in colorado, and we only have a few practices.

Eric

CFLaxer- I'm the defender from Wesley Chapel(white helmet with Indian on it). I don't know what exactly to say to you if you don't think I'm good enough to play for them but I was talking to them. You must not have been looking hard enough for me.

Valax- I know it is easy to get invited to that camp because obviously they want to make money and the more kids that show up, the more money they will get. So yes there are some bad kids that are at the camp but overall the skill level and competition is way better than what you see at the camps down here.

honest question CFLaxer are u guys any good?? Because i was talking to one of my friend that i have been playing with i think we played some allstar team we lost that game 5-3 due to the fact that we ran 8 guys including the goalie the second half of that game and we all where out of shape. But i wanna know if you played a game at ransom like 4 - 5 months ago??

CFLaxer
12-29-2005, 03:20 PM
no we only play at the vail tournament, we dont play in any games down here. and honestly we are terrible the only good thing about our team is our defense, which i am part of. we only have a few good guys on offense, and they're not really stars.

Eric

Yea i play D too really dude all the all star teams down here suck due to the fact that the good players dont wanna play more after they have busted thier *** for 12 plus game in the season. Like i played some allstar team running 8 guys including the goalie and we lost that game 5 to 3 that horrible for a "All Star Team"
