a goal from lacrossedigest. now my question is, will a 2.5mm net hold a 70-80 mph shot?. or do i need to upgrade to something thicker?

yeah man, it should. i wouldnt worry about it, although its always better to have something thicker. but your 2.5 should withstand it. if not, buy some zip ties and put it back together :laugh

My school has this crappy 1.5mm net I think. I am not too sure what it is but it holds fast shots well for about the first week.

I give it 2 weeks before the first hole apears. 2.5mm was made for girls lacrosse only.

It should hold thats what my team uses and I have, but you might want to buy a one incase it gets destroyed.
my 2.5 only lasted me a couple weeks and now I have a couple holes in it

I was about to say welcome back smitt. This thread is exactly a year old, that mean anything?

I've noticed that the nets with the woven-type nylon border work a whole lot better than the ones with no border. Border = doesn't rip in corners, etc., No border = edges rip.

You are starting to make me mad. Stop repeating what EVERYONE has already said and thought just to bump your post count.

This place has enough going on without you dragging up threads that are a year freakin old. Instead of giving us threads where you light your birthday presents on fire, how about just setting your computer on fire instead?

No dude.. you need to get the 3.0mm black coated net from www.goalsports.com, 1-800-334-Goal.. If you are an adult post collegiate club player you need this net.. the 2.5mm net is a HS net at best and will be torn beyond belief in weeks.. I shoot at one at the local HS and I tear holes in it every time I go up there.. the coated net is the same as used at Homewood at JHU.. its black.. hbm
