helmets, helmets, helmets?

im stuck with two helmets,

a clh2+ that was from last year, all white, now practice helmet

now my problem, i figure im gonna start growin(5'3 107lb), and start playin' box so heres my plan(gaits are adjustable)

im gonna get a gait, with the black shell and scarlet chin/visor, so i can use it in games if i really like it.

question: if i had a gait helmet could i take off the visor so i could use it indoor?because the masks are almost identical, exept the top vertical bar between the top two horizontal bar, which is only on the box version

noooooooo! If you wanna good helmet jsut for the love of god get a hockey one! A field helmet in box it will get ruined thorughout the season and no longer useable for field. If you HAVE to look the same as everyone else get a helmet for both. The gait helmet is a hockey one with a visor and some other minor mods on it. But its a lower end ITECH whereas a bauer 5000 or 8000 or RBK8k are solid helmets.

and a black cage. paint some black lines or put a sticker of your logo on it

The ITECH PRO helmet is the foundation of the Gait helmet and is every bit as good as a Bauer 5000. It is not a low end helmet. Both have EPP liners (expanded poly propelene). I agree though, go with a hockey helmet. They are adjustable and lighter.

If you were to get a Itech Pro and a lax cage. a bot on visor youd spend less. WIth the wierd ear things its a crappy design. If you get a 5 or 8000 or 8k your getting a solid helmet for equal money but they are more adjustable and comfy. You can get a visor a bike stroe and attach it too

The local sports equip shop. Go somewhere with hockey and bike stuff, get a bauer 8000 or 5000 or the RBK 8k and a bike helmet visor that you can screw on or attatch somehow mine had clips

Your probably not going to find a site that carries a hockey helmet and lacrosse stuff. www.mountainedgelax.com is another place located in calgary. there site is not the greatest thing around but the guys there are pretty good and im sure if u contact them they would get teh deal done for you. They carry most of your major needs. They actually do have the itech, STX cage combo if you click on masks.
How come you guys need a visor, IMO thats a joke, like we have rules that limit visors and everything, like you can use them but they cant stick out more than half an inch off the cage.

Visors are a disadvantage when playing indoor.

For a chin piece for a hockey helmet, just buy a two-point Adams hockey chin strap and cup. If you must, Adams also sells four-pointers for football.

why do you need a field practice helmet, i just dont get that, u have a field GAME helmet, use that for field practices and games, then go buy a hockey helmet, and put a cage on in, problem solved, im great....

it's a good idea about the hockey helmet man, but you would have to order it offline since you live in cali. go with the hockey helmet, your school isnt gonna care if you buy one then use it for indoor.
