this is soooo not the right forum for this. Somebody please move this to the open forum.
No I don 't think you have to my uncle doesnt wear gloves when he works with his bag. And yeah it should be in the open forum since its not lax related.

I'm not to familiar with boxing but if you do decide to use gloves, make sure you tape up your hands because my friend didn't and ended up ripping up his knuckles.

Good luck if you decide to hit it without gloves. You are going to destroy your knuckles and wrists if you dont. Make sure you atleast start off with some bag gloves.

I have an 80 pound bag and once you start and it swings a little the momemtum plus the force of your punch would destroy your knuckles and you will probably twist your wrist possible breaking it if they dont have proper support..

i would always tape and glove my hands...it's not worth the injury if something happens to ur knuckles/hands/wrists...and it's the same workout just with probably less pain.

it is important to wear bag gloves, they only weigh like 5oz and they will keep your hands from getting chewed up, especially if you are working a canvas bag. if you want to get more arm strength though i suggest using gloves that weigh a bit more like 14-16oz. when i used to fight i would always train with gloves that weighed more than the ones for my weight class.

I really miss boxing it was an elective at my middle school. But I still work on the bag. Improves strength, great cardio, and if anything ever happens you know you are prepared to defend yourself.
