This was posted on ESPN just 7 minutes ago. Wow.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/draft06/news/story?id=2284744

A lot of people didn't expect this. Mack Brown does NOT let his kids enter the draft early, EVER. This was actually the first time a kid has ever went early under Mack Brown.

Hah sorry bud beat you to it. It was actually acknowledged a lot earlier than that. I didn't think vince needed another thread about him.

Its a risky choice on his part I think. Here's hoping he doesn't get injured.

I used to be skeptical about his 3/4 throwing delivery, but at 6'5'', with the speed and agility he has, I think he will be able to make an impact, possibly with some growing pains along the way. Remember, Peyton Manning and Brett Favre struggled in their youth, as well...

This is a great choice by Young, simply because his stock will never be higher. He'll be the number 3 pick and go to tennessee, and be mentored by McNair. Also, he's guaranteed to get some phat cash, and not have to risk injury next season, cuz we all remember what happened to willis mcgehee a few years back.

rich gannon threw with a 3/4 arm motion and he was a damn good quarterback. the thing id be worried about vince young is his ability to play in an I formation offense

I knew about this last night on Sportscenter. The only thing that surprises me is that it's the first Texas player to enter early under Brown.

He is smart, unlike Matt Leinhart. Matt Leinhart should've went out on top.

Well you certainly cant say he went out on bottom. Are you saying leading a team to a national championship for a 3rd straught year undefeated is not on top. I dislike USC alot but they have lots of very talented players that made them a 2 year national championship team and matt leinhart will be good in the Nfl.

with steve mcNair continuing to mentor Vince (he already is) he could possibly become one of the greats of all time. Steve will teach him how to deal with the NFL and since they kinda have the same style the titans will have a star. but im still hoping the fins move up and pick him if we dont get Donte Culpepper and TO woo if we do well be amazing!

Ok. Steve McNair. Same style? Steve was hardly a runner. He thought he was.

why does everyone say leinart is bad...hes alot better than young in some aspects and young is better than others, like running. But leinart has an amazing touch and gets most balls to the recievers and it does seem unfair for VY considering Leinart had alot more to work w/...the #1 runngin back and #1 wr in the country

I posted this first yesterday at 4:30. So someones media is a little late..

Anyway, I still think its the right choice for Mr. Young.

People stop hating on Leinart. One of the reasons (although noone will admit it and wouldn't have affected the 2004-2005 draft) that he didn't move to the nfl last year was he just came back from surgery. People will say he played at 100% but its just not true. So, like a mother hen, USC nursed him back to health with a strong offensive line.

And I know its illogical, and stupid, but what if we (49ers) traded away Smith to get Young? Another Young taking us to the superbowl!

im really hating young right now, i will only like him when he is good in the nfl
i wonder what pick he will b
i think the first pick will be traded for more expericanced players
cuz if texas can stop reggie
most defenses in the playoffs right now can kill him, if their D is bades upon him
i think young shouldve gone another year cuz he needs the most experiance he can get so he can be an amazing rookie, but at least he has a few years of college under his belt, even though his career is definately in the NFL

Because the open forum is the place where lacrosse players can talk about non-lacrosse related events. And everyone knows Lacrosse people are the smartest in everything...

Welcome to the forums, wolaxc22. Next time, before you make a statement like that one, you should look a little closer. This thread is in the open forum, where subjects do not have to do with lacrosse. Therefore, people can have an intelligent, lively discussion about football if they want to.

Edit: Dang, I got beat to it. Oh well, I made a better post anyway. :naughty:

Regardless whoever gets Bush, Leinart,White and Young will have an immediate impact in their line-up
