So this smart guy got arrested yesterday for breandishing firearm and also pointed it at 3 bi-standers. Is this smart guy trying to not get drafted :loser: ?
On top of it he pulled it on teens. :guns:
I knew there was a reason for the gun expression.

Who is this guy that he should be carrying a gun (just another pseudo-thug, methinks) I know I'm going to get some flac from the self-defence group...but I really think that the only reason you should carry a gun is if you think you're going to have to shoot someone. Otherwise I only see them as inviting trouble.

For his career he has 19 TD passes & 15 INTs. His criminal record is getting longer than his football bio. Vick is Maurice Clarett 2.0, just on a faster spiral down the tubes...so the Raiders will probably take a chance on him.

This is just a disgrace, first the ticket, then the stomp, now pulling a gun on teens?!?!? WOW!!! This guys deserves jail and I don't care what people say, it aggravates me to see the kind of so called "atheletes" in this organization. As good as he is, he deserves jail time and really, this gangsta hoodlum crap has got to stop in this country. It is tearing us apart and making us look like fools!

Wouldn't this involve jail time? Three strikes and you're out?
-Contributing to the delinquency of minors
-sexual assault/statutory rape
-Controlled substance
-firearm
(I probably left some out)
Does this make sense? I think by this time, the guy would be locked up.

Why would that happen? The masses love it because it is an ultimate expression of masculinity and the white oppressors love it because it is a self-promoted lifestyle that leaves its members dead or in jail.

The NFL shouldn't let this guy enter in the draft. Seriously, who needs felons in the biggest sport in America? I know that I personally wouldn't want my little brothers seeing some big NFL star on the news with a gun, kids are extremely impressionable and tons of American kids watch the NFL.

Well look at Dallas in the 80's. Half that team was felons.

It's stupid, they think they are so cool and it annoys me. Sure, it has it's uniqueness through their music and others but please.....He is a collegiate athelete, and it's a disgrace. His actions were solely based on the gangster image we have today in our country. Thinking he was tough, acting like a gangster, just like he sees in the movies (ex: Scarface, Godfather) he pulls out a gun so he can feel strong and powerful, to me, that makes him a coward and he could have handled it another way like a man, no matter the situation.
"Kid's want to act like what they see in the cinema" - Black Eyed Peas
This quote holds true for Marcus Vick, because he is a child, he is just an immature child. He sets a bad example for this country and all the others who act just like him.

That Dallas Cowboy team had a "party house" with anything from yayyoo to strippers and prostitutes built across the way from their training facility. I find that to be hilarious, yet mildly disturbing, especially considering the way they absolutely dominated the game in the early-to-mid 90's. I knew that Herschel Walker deal was too good to be true (for Dallas)...
What can you say--America's Team, right?

No professional in the healthcare field would make a diagnosis based solely on what he has read, either in the newspapers or on the Internets. Since I am not a professional in the healthcare field, I get to state my thoughts. My comments are worth everything you'll pay for them.
Marcus Vick's spiraling out of control is evidence of a mental disorder. Look at his recent actions. No one in full command of his facilities would have made a string of decisions that bad. Not a one of them is rational. You can suspend him, you can dismiss him, you can arrest him, you can do all those things, but none of those will stop his fall. What he needs is intervention. Someone or a lot of people need to take him aside and stop him from hurting himself. He needs to step back and take the time to solve his problems before they kill him. Until that happens, nothing changes.
Too much of what I'm seeing is familiar to me, and, no, I'd really rather not elaborate on that if you don't mind. His downfall gets to be played out on national television; most people are luckier than that.
Please, someone, help him.

by all accounts.. he has the same problems as his older brother Ron Mexico

01-10-2006, 09:09 AM
Yes but "Ron" waited until he was drafted to start his extra curicullars. I figure thet Raiders or Ravens may still want him, they always seem to want to keep a few felons and malcontents around for dirty play (I keed, I keed, but somehow it could still be true...)
I doubt Marcus Vick will get drafted. Big time sports teams don't like to draft players who bring a lot baggage w/ them. If you're a proven star, then sure, they'll tolerate a lot of your dirty laundry (e.g., Terrell Owens, Michael Irvin, Kobe Bryant...), but as a prospect and unproven commodity, they want you coming into the league clean.
The Broncos wasted a 3rd Rd pick on Maurice Clarett last year. Before him was Laurence Phillips (star RB of Nebraska's 1996 National Championship team), a 1st Rd flop. Michael Vick's wallet is the only thing keeping Marcus from joining the Longest Yard prison league team.

What a moron. He's a great athelete. He had everything he could want, then did a million and 1 retarded things to ruin it. And seriously, why isn't he in jail? He's done plenty to get there.
Packing heat
Delinquency of a minor
abuse of controlled substance
leg stomp (left me thinking WTF??) does that count as assault?
sexual assault
Wouldn't that put him in jail for at least a few years? And all right before he's drafted, too. What a freaking idiot. He could've at least had major money to get treatment for his problems, now most if not all teams won't want him. He started to look like he would follow the footsteps of his brother, now it looks more like he's following the footsteps of Maurice Clarrett (all us Ohioans hate him with a passion)

on sports center i think they said he "brandished" his gun at some teenagers who were taunting him. if this is true i assume they were making fun of him for getting kicked off the team and he felt it was nessesary teo teach them a lesson by drawing a gun on them. that is wat i am guessing

The Raiders need a QB at #6, bet he'd get along with Randy Moss just fine, ho ho ho.
If I'm not mistaken, Lawrence Phillips was busted in the past year for driving his car at kids when they wouldn't pay up after something like a flag football game (even if I am mistaken, still a damn funny story whoever did it, ala Albert Belle going after the trick-or-treaters).

Interesting Gene Wojciechowski article that discusses a bit of what you both posted.

We can’t excuse what both Vick and Clarett did, if it turns out to be true; but it’s important to try to understand why two people who had so much going for them would do such stupid things.

We'll have to disagree, I happen to like Sakuraba a lot and when they fought @ the Pride Grand Prix, it was clear Sakuraba was the better man. Even with his "special rules" Royce at no point commanded that fight and spent most of it in the corner doing nothing to the point where the fight got so boring that if Sakuraba hadn't messed with him for laughs I would have fast fowarded it to the point where Royce had to throw in the towel. ANd I also think Renzo is actualy the better Gracie (at least currently, but they're getting old, but their instructional stuff is the best in the biz) and Sakuraba did an amazing job finishing him off legitimatly.
But to stay on topic. Vick could have garned a lot of good press prior to this incident to the point where he could have at least come off as a better analogy to Mike than Eli is Peyton as far as hyped brother QBs go. Instead it's more like the Hasselbeck's (and to Tim's credit he at least has the hotter wife!). I'm doubting if he could go 5th or 6th round if anyone still wanted to take the chance (and even then I'm still thinking Raiders or Ravens) but right now if he ever wants to do serios football, he better start seeing if the CFL,AFL, NFL Europe would look at him and not laugh.

And it's far from over.
There have been many NFLers to make boneheaded offseason/inseason extracurriculars when not wearing the uniform.
Randy Moss (to his credit he has been trying to clean up his act and keep quiet, until he admitted he still did pot and didn't think it was a problem), Sean Taylor's summer of '05, The Viking's Love Boat adventures, the Ray Lewis post Superbowl Experience, Mike "Ron Mexaco" Vick etc.
Marcus Vick and Maurice Clarrett are just the latest and they certainly won't be the last. It'll only get more interesting and stupid.
