PLEASE HELP ME, EAR TROUBLES

Ok, b4 i go crazy.....for about a week, ive had a cold-flu symptom kind of thing, and for about 1 1\2-2 days, my left ear seems plugged, like i have trouble hearing out of it, and im seriously losing my mind, i cant sit still, bc i have good hearing, but its killing me that the left side seems plugged. Has anyone else ever had this problem following a cold or flu. Any suggestions on how to cure it? THANKS nething is helpful

Ear drops, i had sometthing like you did in the summer. you just gotta give it time and it will go away.

I have had similiar symptoms before. It is either a result of a sinus infection or a possible ear infection. Either way, go see a doctor for something to clear you up. When it happened to me it really drove me crazy since my equilibrium was way off and it made focusing on hearing anything difficult. My temper went through the roof and my now ex-fiance got the short end of the stick as did my students for asking me anything.

ok thanks, yea its really hard to equally hear stuff, i only hear well out of the one ear and im seriously losing my mind, my guess is something with my sinuses cause ive been sick since the past thursday and ive been better but this ear is kiling me

has your nose been stuffed up so that you've been breathing through your mouth the whole time? a dr. once told me always breathing through your mouth when you get a cold messes up your ears, it could be a thing you gotta wait out but i would suggest seeing a doctor and getting some yummy amoxiciline

It's just an ear infection...unless it hurts or something weird. I wouldn't worry abuot it..it should clear up in a few days.. a week at most..

yea, probably an ear infection...but you can always try to lay on your side and pour a little hydrogen peroxide in your bothered ear. Possible you just have a ton of earwax that shifted and is plugging you up.

yeah i had it too. It was like just in one ear too it sucked. No anger problems though.

if I get whooping cough I will probably die. I almost did when they tried to give me the vaccination when I was little.

While you should never take any medical advice from a TLFer who isn't an M.D., it sounds like you have a wax buildup, enough to cause a signifigant blockage. Had the same problem about 5 months ago. Went to the doctor re my asthma, while I was at it I had him flush my ear (never do it yourself you could rupture the eardrum) and voila, good as new. No blockage, no stuffed up feeling, and perfect stereo hearing returned.
