Review: Well before the flaming starts that I haven't had these long enough aydda yadda yadda; let me say I played in a box tourney and a hockey tourney with these on. 11 games total. In 5ish days I played 11 games 7 ;lacrosse and 4 hockey. I got stepped on by skates slashed my hockey and lacrosse sticks and generally beat up. I have tested the durability just fine ...trust me! Okay anyways on with the show.

First up Flexibility: I loves these gloves; seriously these are more flexible than my friends 4 month old mac's and there 5 days old. They were good off the shelf and improved by leaps and bounds after. I can say only this they feel like a Bently for your hands. These are eiasly the most flexible glove I ever worn... ever. Rating: 9.5/10 nothing perfect but these are damn close.

Fit: Well I have a small palm and long slender fingers and really like Warrior gloves becuase the tight gloves fit me the best. These fit nearly identical to high end Warrior gloves if not tighter. The inside is lined with a coolmax/vaportek liner which wicks sweat from your hands keeping them nice and comfy. These gloves stay light and dont really waterlog like some gloves(insanities) keeping the fit nice and tight and not expanded crap. The cuff is similar to a mac or freaks floating design with velcro a floter and the outer cuff very tight or loose up to you the velcro has a good slection of that. Defintley for the warrior glove types. Rating: 9/10 Really good fit exactly like a good warrior glove.

Ventilation: These are not the greatest in this are but not bad either just average. The liner helps keep you cool anyways. The fingers are fully vented and the back hand has one vent so they breathe okay but not incredibly awesome. I cut the palms out and that probably helped a bit as well. Rating: 6/10 Not bad but not amazing.

Protection: Protection is amazing in these gloves I mean awesome. I got skated over slashed to heck. Didn't feel it at all. The pinky is only two jointed but it has some good protection after the gloves are broken in. The thumb is really protective for its flexibility and thats good cuase ice picks usually destroyed my thunbs until now thank god for Ipros. I was suprised how protective the gloves ended up for their flexibility. I didn't feel one slash at all, the whole weekend. I only felt it when I got kicked by a guy on skates but not verymuch. Rating 8.5/10

Durability: You know how the Mac's lose stictching as they wear quite quickly? These don't. A skate didnt cut the back hand and a mac daddy would be in the trash after that. These are holding up very well. It's liek a Warrior glove that lasts long!. The only problems in durability are the stiching in the palm but I tinhk its cause I cut the palms out so no worries there. Very well made gloves very well made. Rating: 8/10

Palms: I can sorta do this the leather is tetured and grippy so it has a good feel. I cut the mesh out so for me its a 10/10 for you I dont really know but I'm guessing a high rating. sorry

Overall: BUY THESE NOW! These are very well made gloves. Way better than the old STX I even like these better than the G-Forces. Plus, there cheaper!!! Awesome gloves. Get 'em. They got it all! I used to hate all STX gloves excluding the G-force until this year. STX IS BACK BABY!!

He never said it was a review. He said it was his first impressions.

I wish I had iPro's. Oh well, I'd rather have shoguns. All the new STX gloves are tight.

actually the i-pro's are more than the shoguns. Slinky do you have picks, or what colors did you get them in.

slinkyspine, have you taken any contact with them? i was testing the durability of mine by smacking myself with my stick and it hurts a little when i hit my fingers, but i couldn't feel anything when i hit the back of my hand.
also, do you guys want pictures of mine? if so, should i start a new thread because i don't want to steal the thread...
Thanks

Ahh, I am totally turned off of these now by the pics. They have that mesh patch on the heel of the hand like warrior gloves that I hate. My gloves with that wore through there so quickly because of tape.

Monzo

Also, what kind of gloves do you use now to prevent this from happening again?

Is he cuff like warriors where you can velcro the cuff and wear the outer cuff thing loose.

slinkyspine
01-07-2006, 11:10 PM
yeah almost identical to the macs cuff. It has a velcro tihng a floting elastic one and top of the cuff its wicked

Lax101
01-07-2006, 11:15 PM
I heard the Ipros are really stiff out of the bag...are you sure that they're as flexible as freaks/macs?

Now I'm really liking these gloves.

slinkyspine
01-07-2006, 11:16 PM
definetly! I had a mac on one hand a Ipro on the other they were very close the macs a little bit flexyier but very close

Monzo
01-07-2006, 11:17 PM
To gigo-the inner, flexible cuff does not have velcro on it, however it does not restrict movement at all. On the outer cuff, I'm sure you could loosen the velcro to make for a loose fit, but the outer cuff of mine doesn't seem to stay as wide as I'd like. Maybe this is because I haven't really broken the gloves in yet? I just unfastened the velco completely and the cuff fits very loosely.
Lax101-You were right about the IPro's being stiff out of the bag, but slinkyspine says they become very flexible. I couldn't really tell you because i haven't used them that much and the only other gloves I've used are tridents and hypnos, which probably don't compare to mac daddy's or superfreaks.

Canadian Lax
01-07-2006, 11:18 PM
slinkyspine....doesnt the velcro bug the heck out of you. I know when i play i cant have anything around that area where the velcro is . Does the velcro at all make ur wrists less moveable?. But i guees it is good protection for box.

p.s they are still awesome looking gloves. are u gunna cut out the rest of the plams or no??

slinkyspine
01-07-2006, 11:21 PM
I cut out the mesh part of the palms and the mesh on the thumb. I like the velcro good protection

shoebag2000
01-07-2006, 11:43 PM
Monzo, it may have been that I was using black tape for a while. But after I stopped using black, the other hand started to rip as well, so I don't think that was the reason. That is why I am glad I got the G-forces, very little mesh on the palms, less mesh to rip.

slinkyspine
01-07-2006, 11:49 PM
Yes the mesh sucks so I took it out; gotta love box rules. But the black tape weakens the palms especially the mesh

I'm a bit confused here. According to slinkyspine's initial review, he says

They are really tight fitting resembling Mac Daddies just as flexible off the shelf as any warrior gloves (ex. Mac’s, Super freaks’)
Really, any mid-high end glove can get flexible after using it for awhile. Are Ipros flexible out of the bag or not?

There normal sized I suppose. Lax101 right when I tried them in they were super flexible but they may have been scrunched at stroe or something but within a day they would definitley be like freaks or mac's/

Nice preview (or whatever it's called). Those look like really nice gloves. Hopefully ill be able to try them on today at the store.

Monzo
01-08-2006, 01:41 PM
Sorry for the confusion, lax101. In my opinion, they were stiff at first, but I wore them for about 10 or 20 minutes while flexing my hands and they softened up very nicely.
I hope that helped. If you have any specific questions, just ask. The reason I said what I did was because I took them out of the bag and the moment I put them on they seemed stiff to me. After a little bit of movement, they became flexible.

I personally think that they are the ugliest things on the planet. What's on the glove? A freakin' eye?

fenwicklax89
01-08-2006, 02:07 PM
i think the gforces take these in overall look and design. my 2 pairs of gloves are supercrosses and gforces so im much more partial to simplicity in glove design. i find these pretty flashy and modeled more towards the way warrior makes their gloves.

slinkyspine
01-08-2006, 09:51 PM
Yeah I agree fenwick. But I dont liek the g forces too loose and I like awarriors but they have some durability issues so I hope these will hold up.

YES! i got the shoguns, theyre totally insane, they have this weird like..floating plastic thing on the cuff...its genius! ive tried on the ipros and the only noticable difference are the palms. the palms on the ipros have more of that leather stuff, like on macdaddys.

slinkyspine
01-09-2006, 04:51 PM

I was not a huge fan of the gladiators because of the enormous thumb on the gloves. I guess you can say I have small thumbs? But do these have those huge thumbs, or are they similar to the thumb on the superfreaks of mac's??

The backhands of Ipro or G-force? The G-force is actual carbon fiber. The Ipro doesn't have any nor does it look like it. I personally prefer these over the G-forces becuase G-forces fit too loose

nice review. i got a pair for chirstmas, i love em. i play goalie, so the protection on the underside of the wrist is unnesecarry, so i just un do the outer strap, lets you flex your wrist like there isnt anything around it.

Can anyone tell me how these are compared to glads? I personally HATE my gladiators, there not tight at all, they slip off my hands and there SOOOO stiff, even after 2 ish years of play. Im really looking into these, but if there like gladiators, its a no go.

THey don't do a very good job of modelling warriors gloves, maybe not for the value but imitating yeah, they're stiff out of the box, the floating cuff and mesh palms ripped on mine soon after buying them but the local china man sewed 'em up good. They're good, no great gloves. And the wrist guard is a pain when trying to drop them, and the velcro thingy, if its done up the gloves are toooo tight, if it isn't like mine, the wrist guards lose they're purpose.

Whoever bought the defts should be happy with them!!
