ra-ruoh ( scooby doo vioce, if i could be a dog, i would idolize him) . Hes done. To much damage, his knee will be floppin' everywhere if he tries to run and juke after his surgerys.

While the doctor isn't as optomistic as the Bengals front office, it still seems that with some good rest, physical therapy and use of brace Palmer could be back next season. I don't think he'll start the season, but could see a return after the first month. If not it's a shame, with what he'd done for the 'natti this year along with Marvin Lewis.

Edit: After doing some extra thinking, If Palmer is in fact done (ie can't make the recovery) it's not over for the Bengals. Kitna is a very capable QB, and he should be preparing this offseason for that scenario, but they should be looking to draft or sign another backup QB as insurance.

Get a 300 pound man to fall on your leg at an awkward angle and see what happens.

Um, a 300 pound man fell onto his leg at an awkward angle, what would you expect to happen?
Actually if you watch the replay he didn't fall on Palmer. As he went to the ground he snaked his arm around the back of Palmer's calf, put his shoulder into him and "yanked" him down, as if he were trying to stand back up. That's why Lewis wanted the flag.

They said if he makes a full rcovery he wont be ready until at least training camp next year... WOW! I have had my fair share of football injuries and i know what he is going trough (probably worse) so i hope he does his phisycal therapy and can rcover

He wanted to tackle Palmer becaus you don't fall into a QB's legs with your arms tied behind your back... this isn't soccer.

It was Kimo's shoulder falling into the knee that messed Palmer up, not Kimo twisting his legs (which he didnt' do at all).

I never said he didn't want to tackle him, from the original tv angle that's what it looked like to, using his leg as a stable post to yank his "big-boned" self up.

Kimo felt like crud about it though. It was completely unintentional. I don't know if you guys saw this side of the reply, but after Kimo got up and was looking at the play down the field, he saw that Palmer was still on the ground and was absolutely disgusted with himself. He never meant to end anyone's career (well, we don't know for sure yet), it wasn't a dirty hit at all.

Unless you go by the name Lawrence Taylor, I don't think many players try to end guys careers. You could see how bad Kimo felt. Most of his former teammates on the Bengals were helping with damage control, standing up for him in terms of character. Plus Carson forgave him, which also says something. Like I said 2 posts ago, if you look at the original replays of the hit, the low angle one that shows Palmers leg getting wrapped up, you could see why Marvin Lewis was livid he wasn't called for roughing the passer. Granted, I wouldn't have called it roughing the passer, it didn't occur like most of those fouls are called, with some bug DE/DT/LB etc steaming full speed at a standing QB without attempting to stop himself. This was totally different.

On a side note, did anybody see that Plummer and Roethlesberger (sp?) were both wearing braces on both knees. Ben has had knee problems in the past but I don't think Plummer has. I think in the wake of Palmer's injury, most QBs who didn't wear braces prior, will begin to as a precautionary measure now, as most OL men do.
Yeah, watching college football this year, most programs have issued braces to the entire O-line because of all the tourque and pressure they're putting on the lower legs, I won't be surprised if the less run-happy QBs start following suit.

...especially an OL man who relies on his knees as much as he does.

I don't know if I'm exactly correct but I don't believe Peyton was wearing a brace which is surprising for as much as the Steelers blitz. There will be a few who don't wear braces...I was surprised Plummer was for as much as he rolls out. Leinart does, Eli wears one (on his left I believe), I think Brady does too...at least one since his knee hyperextension at Michigan. We'll have to see what the future holds for stuff like this. Nobody wants to have something like the Palmer injury happen to them so I'm sure we'll see a major increase in it by next season.
Jim Lachey is a prime example of that. He spent a lot of time on IR due to blowing out his knees and ACL injuries.

I can't recall seeing Peyton with a brace on. Brunell is another who has been wearing braces, he can't move like he used to but still relies on bootlegs and the occasional scramble, especially after the 2nd giants game this season when they took him out of the game, and he was already wearing a brace.

Here we go, Steelers. Here we go! Pittsburgh's Going To The Super Bowl!!

Thanks for that, buddy. They're good and they've got the hardest behind them but now the biggest challenge isn't Denver...it's looking past Denver. I've heard so much about how Pittsburgh can't lose but if they walk into Mile High with that attitude, they won't have to worry about making it to Detroit because they will not beat Denver.

tru dat, tru dat. but i have faith in the steelers
