ok, so I have been able to catch the ball the years I have played lacrosse, but since recently I have developed a habit of "snaping" at the ball. When i go to catch it I turn my head and it pops out. I jsut cant stop doing it, and it is effecting my spot on the team. Any suggestions, I have done wall ball, etc. and I have a tourn. tom and I still need some help.

i had the same problem, my coach played defense at d1 he put me against a wall told me to put my stick up and to not move but when i felt the ball in my stick to give with it, he would then crank the ball at my stick (this is a really buff guy and it always got to my stick) so he pretty much scared the habit out of me

try moving to the ball. Usually I tend to snap at the ball when I'm not moving towrds the ball and when I'm standing there waiting for the ball to come to me.

I think most of us have been there, even my college players have that issue sometimes. We always go to the wall and practice quick sticks, focusing on soft hands. 30 minutes of that usually solves the probem, if not, I'd get someone with a switch to hit your legs when you snap at it.
