Goalie Pita Pocket

Well, I'm finally putting up one of my favorite sticks. What you are looking at right here is a goalie stick strung with a pita pocket. I still need to change the shooters because it has 5 nylons and 1 hockey lace(I ran out of them). Overall its a pretty solid stick, it's a little whippy but it has pretty sweet hold. I know in the middle it looks like its uneven and unsymmetrical, but thats only because of the lighting/the pocket wasn't popped out all the way. It took about 4-6 hours, I can't really remember, and it's strung on a Debeer Web. And MDAWG and Kryptic, Im pretty sure I finally locked the nylons to each other right lol.

That is very nice indeed. Sweet colors, too. Not quite as elaborate as kryptic's and laxgoalieking's space commanders, but impressive nonetheless.

thanks everyone. i was thinking about doing a space commander, but 3 or 4 people have done that, and no one has done a goalie pita pocket that i know of. i just thought it would be more original than the space commander. i think the space commander is sweet...but i didnt want to wear it out lol.

For the record, what you guys saw on my wood goalie sticks is a basic double traditional. I haven't tried stringing a Space Commander yet, but it would be interesting to try one on a wood goalie stick.

the whip is from the shooters, i know that for sure. im just not sure if i want to change it yet because i put the nylons in there to add color. basically i did this as a show stick to say to my friends, "look what i can do!"(add stuart voice)

well i guess its true then, everything has been done already. your pocket and my pocket are the same, and very different at the same time though. yours only has 6 leathers and mine has 8. and you also have a saddle. looks good though.

holy smokes someone brought this thread back. to be completely honest, its not that bad. its on a k-lyte so that helps with the weight a little. i dont think its to much heavier than a mesh stringjob.

That's sweet but I wonder how functional it is. That'd have to be some STRONG crosslace to last an entire season. But just think of how horrible it would be if it snapped. I'll stick with my custom six-string, thank you.

i dont really play goalie, so im not really worried about the duribility. the only real problem with it is the diamonds always are moving around, other than that its not bad.

i like the colors
pockets a lil sloppy but it must be hard doing it in a goalie head
