Hi, when dying my head today, using Dylon dye (we can't get RIT in the UK), the dye has taken to the head really well in some places but in other places it hasnt, meaning it has left white patches everywhere. In some places it has kinda taken to the stick. Why is this?

it could be that you didnt stir the dye well enough

Was it a brand new head?
There may have been something on the head from the manufacturing process that acted as a barrier. Old or new, it’s always a good idea to give a head a good cleaning with soap and hot water before dying it.

what kind of head was it? there are some sticks (the women's APEX is one that comes to mind) that have spots on them that won't dye. this is just how the stick is made, and it has something to do with the plastic used. another reason could be your water wasn't hot enough, so try that as well. if none of those work, ask a buddy in the states to send you some RIT, because i've never heard of dye leaving out parts...

It was a bionic. I think it must be some kind of coating on parts of the plastic. Its not a new head, a few months old and been through a few games. Water was straight from kettle so should have been hot enough.
