Where are the places? Wouldn't it just make those places weaker?

On the harrow website, www.harrowsports.com, you can click on each shaft and in the specs. box it will say cut: followed by yes/no and were you can cut it from. Harrow shafts are hollow all the way through, they only have wooden plugs at hte ends, so even if you cut those off it wiil still have the same performance.

There is a solid end cap on the box shaft. I sent a e-mail to Harrow a while ago to ask about just that and they said it wouldn't void the warranty at all and i did just that and cut it from 32" to 30".

I got a box the other day and cut off from the top (open end) cause i wanted to keep the cool lil maple leaf on the bottom. I would recommending having sandpaper when you cut it so if its not a totally staight cut you can sand it clean. This is confusing me with all the top/bottom whatnot, but thats what i did, so i hope it helps.

By putting down bottom/top it means you can cut it from either end. I would also recommend you cut from the top to keep the maple leaf and closed bottom.

Wow, this search tool is fantastic!

True story:

I have a Harrow shaft on the way, and I had a question on whether I could cut it, and what is the best way to do that.

Anyway, I searched on "harrow, shaft, cut", and here I am, answer found!

Best part, I didn't have to start a stupid thread!

I cut a harrow box shaft with a circular saw, took about 5 seconds, no worries.
