I do fairly frequently, I find as long as you keep your feet moving and dont overcommit it is a good takeaway check, it is really all about setting the guy up and timing it properly

I'm small and play attack, so if I am chasing down a d-man I do if he doesnt have anything sticking out. Works well too.

if a guy is going to my left (i'm righty) i will go up and hit him with my shoulder and do the wrap...it works pretty well if you are being physical with him already. i wouldnt do it if there was a lot of space between us or if i thought he was quick enough to roll the opposite way.

The only time i do is on a ride when the defensemen cuts across or the field or crosses the half line, or if im on middie than if someone is right near the goal and i need to have a last effort to stop there shot, but they are rarely effective

well wrap checking is nice in close or when its more chaotic, like when possesion is switched. Its better to just use positioning when play is slow and they are just passing around etc. But i am a middie so thats y i say positional d but if you are attack then its nice for riding. see matt danowski in last years national championships i think or against maryland.

I only use it when my body is between him and goal and I can move my feet and get back in front of him.

they can get out of control and if the ref is strict he will call you for a slash but if you have enough strenghtand you can control it it can be a good last resort for an attackman to stop the man from starting a fast break.
