well, if you could put pics up, that would help.. it all depends on how loose you strung your sidewalls/top string, how high or low you strung the pocket, how deep your pocket is, what kind of mesh you used and where your shooters are

sry my camera isnt exactly working but i used regular hard mesh....reg. sidewall for the top, sides, and bottom, and the topstring is as tight as possible and sidewall are pretty tight...theres one U shooter and two spaced straight shooters

string a nylon (tight) closest to the scoop and if it still goes off the plastic, make it tighter.
1 word TIGHTEN, tighten everything, sidewall strings, top string, and use nylon/sidewall string for the top, no leathers, also tighten the top shooting string. Also with your shooting strings, possibly try a nylon top shooter and remember to do the staircase effect making the shooters gradually looser as u go down the mesh. Finally remember soft mesh is naturally whippier than hard mesh. Also check for tutorials theres ton on the site.
As for ur second question, 9 diamond? ive never heard of that but usually the norm is 10 diamond hard or soft. And in general the bigger the holes or less holes the better the hold, the smaller the holes or more holes the smoother the release and quicker the release because of less whip which is due to the fact that less holes is more like having no holes. For more information on the differances between 8d, catapultion, and 6d i have a thread on it differances between 8d, Cata, and 6d. (http://www.lacrosseforums.com/showthread.php?t=35794).
Hope this helps

YES YES and YES!!! I did that to my old school revo today. I strung it with soft mesh, so naturally more whip. Well, it ended up being too much and hitting the plastic. So, I just wove a nylon through the 2nd row from the top of my mesh, tightened as much as I could (which is imperative bc it will stretch, you will probably have to tighten it once or twice more) and it did the trick. Definitely do that. By the way, it still leaves you with nice hold. One last pointer--when you first do this, it feels really weird. Just take it out to the wall for about 15 min. and throw around. It will start feeling damn good. I fully endorse jamlax's statement

Evo/Revo Pros have a tendancy to hit the lip if not strung properly. What you should do is tighten the top string and sidewalls as much as you can, also as previously stated, put in a nylon shooter at the row of diamonds just under the ones the topstring uses, pull that very tight, then add a couple tight shooters under that. If everything's as tight as I just said, it should throw beautifully.

I get a shooter lace that I place near the top... Tighten it decently... and of course always have the top as tight as possible. It just restrung my revo pro and I'll post pictures... The thing has no whip and no lip its literally "perfect". And I emphasize on the perfect

have very tight sidewalls and heva a mid to high pocket with your shooters either 3 straight or 2 straight and 1 V or U. 9 diamond is easyer to get symetrical than ten diamond mesh
