In short, many different players have different playing styles. For those who take shots during games, what do you value more, shot speed, or shot accuracy? Obviously, to greaten one, you have to lose some of the other. Also, when you post which, give your reasoning.

Personally, I am going with shot accuracy, and this is my reasoning.

1. You can have a great shot that is accurate and slow, but, in my opinion, a fast but inaccurate shot has a much lower chance of scoring.

2. Goalies have less of a chance getting to a slow corner shot then they do blocking a fast shot(to a place such as their chest).

*DO NOT FLAME SOMEONE FOR THEIR PERSONAL OPINIONS*

i say dead equal because no matter how accurate the shot is its not going to make a difference if the goalie can move faster than the shot and even if you can shoot 100 mph it wont matter if you cant hit the goal. therefore a happy madium seems the best. but there are always acceptions such as if your right at the crease you dont need much speed or if there is an open net you just want to get it in the goal before the goalie gets back.

I think if you can put the ball in the spot it needs to be to go in you don't necesarily need alot of speed but most of the time you need a good balance of both to make the shot.

I gave a slight edge to shot speed for a couple of reasons:

1) Slow shots can be more easily caught by the goalie and launched for a fast break. Faster shots are difficult to control and quickly outlet.
2) If you miss the net, you should have someone backing up the shot so your team retains possesion, whereas a slow shot can be picked off more like a pass and your team could lose possesion.

I also say this primarily concerning mid-long range shots. In tight, there's no real reason to power it in, that's where placement comes in big time.

If you can put it exactly where you want it but with no power the goalie could easily make the save. They are dead equal.

it all depends on where u r. but mostly dead equal. if ur in close placement does the job. but if ur not in close that accuaracy and speed is the way to go unless u do the bounce shot.

well its equal and situational say you are within 5 yards the "kill zone" then accuracy is key go for the corners but say u are 10 yards out driving towards the net then more power because the goalie is on the move. Now you still need to put some power on the 5 yard shot and you need to make sure on ur power shot that you can still put it in the general vacinity (sp)? of where you want to go

dead equal cause an accurate but soft shot is realitivley easy to stop and a hard inaccurate shot is very likley to miss the net

I also say shot speed for the same reason as Duck...if i had to choose one, but dead equal would be best.

But a well placed bounceshot is also hard to stop, even if its slow, which is what my 2 goalies tell me

if you have amazing
dead on accuracy,
then you never miss

I think speed and accuracy both matter on outside and on the run shots. But accuracy matters more on inside shots.

Dead equal. I consider myself to have a pretty good shot at 78mph and i can hit roughly top corner 9/10 tries(is that good compared other second years?) I hate taking the shots for some reason but if im way open I'll take 'em. I think accuracy is better b/c of what plaidpenguin said a fast shot w/o accuracy could hit a goalie in the chest or not even be on goal.

That sounds great for your second year. Oh yeah, btw, I also hardly ever take shots. It just...freaks me out? I don't know. Last season: one shot, one goal. And a bunch of assists.

You don't take shots? Then why did you choose to play attack? Seems like you'd make a better middie if you like to get assists and use a short stick.
