I need to know how I can get better at stick protection and dodging without someone to check me. The only person around that plays me is a freshman in HS and hes never outside. So, what can I do?

You can run around your house dodging the corners of the walls. That's what I do.

I practice dodges against trees. I hate it when they get the ball from me.

Ha yeah my trees would make great defenders. Anyway, practice stick protection, using your arm as a shield when cradling one handed, and your body when cradling 2 handed. And don't ward off with your free hand.

Just get a small bucket or flip a trash can over and dodge around that.. just make sure nothing is in the trash can first..

Sometimes I get a short stool or something and put a (lax) stick on top of it so it's a more realistic "defender"

I got a question about the split dodge. Every one that I know does it with the a fake to one side and switches it to the other hand. But when I do it I just change dircetions and mostly do this to keep the stick protected. Should I learn to do the fake thing or just do it to create room for my hands?

when doing dodges, be aggressive but fluent, keep your head near your ear, just keep moving your feet, and keep cradeling.

Keep your feet moving. Dodge trees and such. Keep your stick protected with your body, and be aggressive.
